(Normally Open) type, emergency stop button.
When the contact is closed (emergency button
pressed), the generator will stop immediately
and power is cut from its electronic circuits.
5.8 Connection to the fuel tank
The generator can be connected to the vehicle’s
fuel tank (provided it uses the same type of fuel).
In this instance the generator must be supplied
by a circuit fitted with independent fuel pick up
and return. It is absolutely imperative that the
generator’s fuel line is not connected to that of
the vehicle’s engine, as this could result in seri-
ous malfunctions and invalidate the warranties of
both.
For the connection to the fuel tank use only fuel
grade tubing of a suitable diameter.
Make sure that the cross-section of the tubes is
not reduced by choking, bending or squashing.
Available options are a fuel tank equipped with a
filler that can be fitted to the side of the vehicle
(code 05466) and another with only a cap (code
05472), both of about 15 litres capacity, which
can be positioned either vertically or horizontally,
fitted with a tap with a reserve indicator.
When choosing the position in which to install the
fuel tank, ensure that the fuel line length is as
short as possible.
Position the fuel tank away from sources of heat
and in a location protected from external water.
The level of the tank must differ by no more than
20 cm from that of the generator. If the fuel tank
is installed at a level that is 0.5 m lower than that
of the generator, it may be necessary to install an
additional fuel pump.
An optional electric pump (code 00507) is avail-
able that can easily handle differences in levels
greater than one metre.
5.9 Connecting two TIG3000B units in
parallel
Should it be necessary to double the available
power, it is possible to connect two TIG3000B
units in parallel (they must have the same or
compatible hardware and software revision lev-
els). The connection must be carried out follow-
ing the wiring diagram at Fig. 25.
1 = TIG 3000B #1
2 = TIG 3000B #2
3 = Battery (may be common)
4 = Data cable for parallel connection
5 = TIG #1 230 V output cable
6 = TIG #2 230 V output cable
7 = Connection point of the two outputs
8 = Load connection
The following rules must be observed when car-
rying out the parallel connection:
- the connections must be made with the genera-
tors switched off
- the maximum distance between the two genera-
tors must not exceed 10 metres
- the length of cables 5 and 6 from the outputs of
the generators to the junction point must be less
than 15 metres each, the lengths must be identi-
cal (a maximum difference of 1 metre is tolerat-
ed) and the wires must be of the same size
- make absolutely certain that the N, L and PE
connections to the user circuit are correct
- the two generators may share the same starter
battery or each may have its own
- with regard to the size of the cables used, com-
ply with the specifications in the paragraph on
electrical connections
If these rules are not complied with the overall
power output will not equate to the sum of the
outputs of the two generators, or worse still,
might create a malfunction with damage to the
generators.
In order for the two generators to be able to work
with the outputs connected in parallel, they need
to exchange data on the synchronisation and op-
eration. This is achieved through the special (op-
tional) data cable code 06688 (Fig. 25 ref. 4).
