Fig. 21 Long faders
The bar graphs next to the faders indicate the current signal level
of the channels For the sum channel MAIN and for the subgroups,
separate LED level indicators (4) are available The CLIP LED lights up
when the channel is overloaded and the signal is distorted In this
case, reduce the volume of the corresponding sum channel or of the
input channels assigned
To make sure that the signal sum MAIN or the signal of a sub-
group never exceeds a specific level, define the compressor in the
corresponding sum channel as a limiter (
chapter 542)
Another option for checking all signal levels is the screen view “Meter”
(fig 23); to call up this view, use the key METER (16)

By means of a green bar (in the centre) and the
dB value (above the bar), the screen view “Meter”
indicates the volume setting of the fader for each
channel The bar graph “Sig” on the right side in-
dicates the current signal level ahead of the fader
The bar graph “Lim” on the left side indicates the
level attenuation by the compressor
Fig. 22
The colour of the small boxes beneath the bar graph “Lim” indicates
the status of the noise gate:
Grey: switched off
Red: gate closed
Green: gate open

5.7.2 Signals for stage monitors
To create the mixed signal for a stage monitor:
1)
As described in chapter 533: For each of the input channels whose
signal is to be sent to the monitor, use the corresponding Aux Send
control to adjust the signal part desired
2)
When the Aux way of the monitor has been selected, use the fader
of the Aux way in the screen view “Mixer” or “Long Faders” or in
another view to adjust the total volume for the monitor
3)
If required, process the mixed signal of the Aux way for the monitor,
e g adjust the basic sound with the graphic equalizer (
chap-
ter552) or use the parametric equalizer (
chapter 551) to
attenuate critical feedback frequencies by means of a notch filter
In addition, it is also possible to process the dynamic range with a
compressor (
chapter 542)
5.7.3 Internal effects
To add effects of the two effect processors of the mixer:
1)
As described in chapter 534: For each of the input channels whose
signal is to be provided with effects, use the corresponding FX1
and FX2 Send controls to adjust the signal part desired
2) As described in chapter 534: If required, route the effect signals
to the sum channel MAIN and /or to the subgroups and /or add
them to the monitor ways
3) Set the effects (
chapter 5731)
4) Use the faders “FX1” and “FX2” of the effect ways in the screen
view “Mixer” or “Long Faders” or in another view to adjust the
total volume of the respective effect way
5) If required, process the mixed signal that is routed to the effect
processors, e g adjust the sound with the parametric equalizer
(
chapter 551) or process the dynamic range (
chapter 54)
