6. STATUS IN: You can send a Power Status signal to the IR module by connec-
ting a Power adapter to this connection (not supplied; 12VDC/200mA),
which is switched by the device to be controlled. This will be continuously illu-
minated if the IR Receiver also has a status LED.
7. IR IN: Mini jack input for infrared signals (+12V, GND, ST OUT and IR IN).
8. ATTACHMENT HOLES (mounting material not supplied).
DIP switches
EM ON / BL ON
’BL’ must be set to ‘ON’ if an IR Extender Cable with Blaster is connected to
one of the two outputs (3). This ensures a higher power on the
Emitters/Blasters output which is necessary. Switch it to ‘EM ON’ if you have
connected an IR Extender Cable with LED to this output or not connected
anything at all.
NOTE: The wrong choice when it comes to these two settings can damage
the IR Extender Cable and cause it to become defective.
NET OFF / NET ON:
Switch to setting ‘NET ON’ if you have extended the IR Receiver’s cable by
more than 15 metres (maximum 300 metres with CAT5). This setting pre-
vents problems with ‘high data rate’ IR codes. If you use parallel numerous IR
Modules in the same network (see, page 40/41 for an example), ensure that
there is only one IR Module with the ‘NET ON’ setting. The switch will be set
to ‘NET OFF’ in all other situations.
3. INSTALLATION
To check the proper working of the system it is advisable first to test the forma-
tion as planned. For this reason connect everything as described as follows but
don’t fix or screw the components yet.
1. Mount the IR Module in an accessible place behind or alongside your A/V
equipment, in the vicinity of a socket (100-240Volt 50/60Hz). Make sure you
take the cable length of the IR Extender Cable into account and try to ensu-
re that the connections remain as accessible as possible.
