“neutral”;

bladesareengaged;
– thereversegearisengagedwiththebladesengaged.Thiscanbe

5.3 PRELIMINARYOPERATIONS BEFORESTARTINGWORK
Beforestartingtoworkitisnecessarytocarryoutseveralchecksand
operationstoensurethattheworkgivesthebestresultsandisdone
inmaximum safety.
5.3.1 Seatadjustment
To adjust the seat position, the
four fixing screws (1) must be
loosened.Move the seat along
thesupportslots.
Whenyoufindthedesiredposi-
tion,tightenthefourscrews(1).
Theslidingseatcanbeadjusted
ontosix differentpositions.
The position is changed by
pulling up the handle (1) and
slidingtheseatuntil itis locked
intothe desiredposition.

5.3.3 Fillingwithoiland fuel
Use oilSAE 10W30 andPetrolUnleadedEuro95.
Runningthe engine with an insufficientamount of
oilcan damage it very seriously.The useof anon-detergent ortwo-
stroke engine oil can reduce the life of the engine.
On a flat surface and with the engine
off, remove the cap with the dipstick
anddryit.Pushitfullyinwithoutscrew-
ingiton,thentakeitoutandcheckthe
oillevel.Ifthelevelisclosetoorbelow
the lower limit (MIN) of the dipstick,
topupwiththerecommendedoiluntil
theupperlimit(MAX)isreached.
Screw the dipstick cap back
on.
Refuel using a funnel. Avoid
overfilling;fillerneckhasamax
levelindication.
The tank's capacity is indi-
catedin chapter10.
Intheevent of spilling onthebody, quicklyremove
petrol traces.
Refuelling should be carried out in an open
or well ventilated area withengine stopped.Always remem-
ber that petrol fumes are inflammable. DO NOT TAKE A
NAKEDFLAMETOTHETANK’SOPENING IN ORDERTOSEE
THETANK’SCONTENTSANDDO NOT SMOKEWHENREFU-
ELLING.
Fuelcontaining alcohol
If you intend to use fuel with alcohol, ensure that
its octane number is at least as high as that recommended by
Honda (86).There aretwo typesof fuel/alcohol mixtures:one con-
tains ethanol and the other methanol.
