B» = Transmission released: considerably reduces
the effort required for moving the machine by
hand,withtheengineturned off.
NOTE
Do not keep thepedal halfway betweenclutch
engagementand disengagement fora longtime;this cancause
overheating and consequent damage to the transmission belt.
When the machineis in movement, keep your
foot off the pedal.
4.22 SPEEDCHANGELEVER
Thisleverhassevenpositionsforthefiveforwardspeeds,theneu-
t
ral position «N», andreverse «R».Togofrom onespeed toan-
other,pressthepedal(4.21)halfwayandmovetheleverasperthe
instructionsonthelabel.
Reverse must be engaged only when the
machine isstopped.

5. HOWTOUSE
5.1 SAFETYRECOMMENDATIONS
The machine must onlybe usedfor thepur-
pose for which it was designed (cutting and collection of
grass).
Usingthemachineinanyotherwayisconsidered"improper
use" which willinvalidatethe warranty,relieve themanufac-
turer from all liabilities, and the user will consequently be
liable for all and any damage or injury to himself or others.
Examplesofimproperusemayinclude,butarenotlimitedto:
transportpeople,childrenoranimalsonthemachineoron
a trailer;
tow orpush loads withoutthe useof the specifiedacces-
sory fortowing;
use of the machine for moving over unstable, slippery,
icy, stony, rough,marshy ground andpuddles that do not
allow for evaluation ofthe consistency of theground;
use of the machine for leafor debris collection;
use of the blades on surfaces other thangrass.
Do not tamper withorremovethe safetyde-
vices fitted to the machine.REMEMBERTHATTHE USER IS
ALWAYS RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE AND INJURIES TO

Before usingthe machine:
read the general safety regulations ( 1.1), paying parti-
cular attention to drivingand cutting on slopes;
carefully read the instructions for use, become familiar
with the controls and on how to quickly stop the blades
and engine.
never put your hands or feet next to or beneath the rotat-
ing parts andalways keepawayfrom thedischargeopen-
ing.
Donot usethe machinewhen ina precariousstate ofhealth
orundertheeffectofmedicinesorothersubstancesthatcan
reduce your reflex actions andyour abilityto concentrate.
Itistheuser'sresponsibilitytoassessthepotentialriskofthe
areawhereworkistobecarriedout,aswellastotakeallthe
necessarystepstoensurehisownsafetyandthatofothers,
particularly on slopes or rough, slippery and unstable
ground.
Donot leave themachine stoppedinhigh grass withtheen-
gine running in order toavoid the risk of starting afire.
This machine must not be used on slopes
greater than 10° (17%) ( 5.5).
