OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Pull the frying basket handle (6) upwards until it locks into a
horizontal position. The frying basket (4) is then lifted (Fig. 3).
Press on the lid release button (11) to open the lid (1). Caution! The
lid can be hot.
Make sure that the food to be fried is dry in order to avoid splattering
or foaming of the oil. Dab the damp food dry with a paper towel and
remove ice from frozen foods.
Fill the prepared food to be fried in the frying basket. The frying
basket limit is 1kg food (1kg French fries). The food inside the frying
basket with a maximum weight of 1kg must be completely covered
by oil, otherwise it can not be fried successfully.

Do not overfill the frying basket. The food to be fried should be distributed over the entire surface of the
frying basket in order to ensure even frying.
Close the lid again and check the temperature setting. Lower the frying basket only once the indicator light
Temp(14) goes out. In order to lower the frying basket, push back the sliding switch (5) on the frying basket
handle. In doing so, the frying basket handle is also lowered.
Set the required frying time with the timer (13) (see Timer section). You can also use this device even if you
have not set a particular frying time.
Raise the frying basket after the frying time has expired and check through the viewing window (3) whether
the food to be fried has reached the desired degree of browning. Switch the timer (13) to the Off position
if you are satisfied with the frying results and no further frying procedure is to follow. Then disconnect the
device from the mains.
Lift the frying basket (4) by the closed lid and let the oil/fat drain.
Once the oil/fat has been drained, press the lid release button (11) in order to open the lid (1). Caution! The
deep fryer is very hot. Hot steam can escape and hot oil/fat can spray out.
Remove the frying basket (4) carefully out of the deep fryer. Line a bowl or sieve with paper towels and fill
with the fried food. The excess oil/fat will be absorbed by the paper towel.
Filtering, storing and disposing of oil/fat
Let the device cool off after use (at least 3 hours).
It is recommended that you filter the oil/fat after each frying procedure in order to remove small bits, e.g.
food residues, completely since they accelerate fat spoilage.
Remove the control and heating element (8) and the frying vat (10) and pour the cooled oil/fat (it should still
be in liquid form) into a metal pot with handles.
Remove food residues from the frying vat with a sponge or some paper towel (10). Insert the frying vat and
the control and heating element (8) back into the device.
Mount the frying basket (4) and raise it to the top position. Slowly pour the cooking oil/fat through the filter
back into the deep fryer. You can use a paper towel or a piece of cotton material as a filter.
If you fry often, the oil/fat can be stored in the deep fryer. Close the lid (1) and keep the device in a cool, dry
place.
Change the oil/fat after 3 to 5 frying procedures. Be sure to change the oil/fat if it foams, smokes or smells
unpleasant when heated, or if it has become dark and viscous.
Caution! Old or contaminated oil/fat can ignite itself when overheated. In case of fire, pull the plug
immediately and close the lid (1). Never pour water into hot or burning oil/fat.
