OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Dry the food to be fried carefully before immersing it in oil/fat. This way, splattering oil/fat can be avoided
and the food to be fried becomes crispy. Foods containing water such as fish or vegetables should be
breaded or turned in flour before frying.
Thaw frozen food briefly and then dry the food carefully.
For frozen foods, the temperature of the oil/fat decreases greatly. Therefore, do not fry large quantities at
once.
French Fries
Peel the potatoes and cut them into strips of equal length. Wash potatoes and let them dry completely. Set
the dry potato strips into the frying basket (4). The frying basket limit is 1kg French fries.
When frying ensure that the potato strips are completely covered by oil, otherwise they can not be fried
successfully. Do not put too many French fries into the frying basket in order to achieve a better frying result.
Close the lid and preheat the deep fryer to 170 °C. Lower the frying basket into the oil only once the
indicator light Temp(14) goes out. Cook the fries for about 8 to 10 minutes (depending on amount and
thickness of the fries).
Raise the frying basket and wait until the deep fryer has heated up to 170 °C. Then lower the frying basket
again and cook the fries for approx. 2 to 3 minutes until their color is gold-brown and until they are crispy.
Lift the frying basket when the lid is still closed and let the oil drain.
Remove the frying basket carefully out of the deep fryer. Line a bowl or sieve with paper towels and fill with
the French fries. The excess oil will be absorbed by the paper towel.
When using frozen fries, pay attention to the frying advices on the packaging.
Changing the fat filter
There is a filter in the lid (1) which filters fat from the rising steam.
After a certain amount of time, the filter loses its effectiveness. Change filters whenever necessary.
Detach the filter cover (2) from the lid and remove the filter (Fig. 4).
Insert the new filter which can be bought on the market.
Put the filter cover back on after changing the filter.

Overheating protection
If the device overheats (e.g. because there is not enough oil in the frying vat), the device switches off
automatically. In this case, disconnect the device from the power supply and let it cool off completely. So
that the device functions again, press the RESTART button (7) on the rear side of the control and heating
element(8) using a toothpick or similar, non-metal object.
