Tips:
Before you add the oil, mix it with your favourite herbs and spices. This
will allow you for example to prepare tasty curry or paprika- avoured
chips. There are no limits to your imagination.
If you want to prepare frozen chips, there is no need to add any oil as
most frozen products are generally pre-fried! If you are going to prepare
frozen chips or croquettes, follow the manufacturer's speci cations on
the packaging.
Depending on how thick you cut your potatoes, you can vary between
potato wedges and thick or thin chips. The thicker the potato is cut, the
longer the cooking time.
You will get the best results with a quantity of 500 g as the chips are
stirred through evenly at this quantity. If you want to prepare a greater
quantity, we recommend that you stir the food approx. every 15 minutes
with a wooden spoon to ensure that the food is cooked evenly.
What You Should Look Out For When Preparing Chips!
Depending on the variety, climate and growing conditions, the potato will display
differences in its shape, size, avour and quality. Each variety has its own special
characteristics. The cooking results may therefore be different depending on the
origin and season.
It is advisable to use waxy potatoes to prepare chips. Young potatoes often have a
high water content which makes it dif cult to make crispy chips.
For the best results, the potatoes should, after they have been cut, be washed
thoroughly with cold water to remove some of the starch. The chips should then be
dried thoroughly with an absorbent cloth. The chips should be practically dry before
they are placed into the device.
You will then be sure to get tasty and crispy chips!
