Under the cover you will also find a row of 5 DIP
Switches labeled SW3 and a “LEARN” button.
1. Ensure that DIP Switch5 of SW3 on the LED
indicator board is set to OFF (“SIREN”) for
use with this alarm system.
2. DIPswitch1 marked “ALARM TIME” is used to
limit the maximum period for which the
external siren will sound before it will be
automatically shut down, (even if the Control
Panel is still in alarm):
ON 3 minutes
OFF 10 minutes
3. DIPswitch2 marked “AJdoes not function for
this system and should be ignored.
4. DIPswitch3 marked ALARM SOUND if OFF
will prevent the siren from sounding during an
alarm, (this will not affect the warning beeps):
ON Siren enabled
OFF Siren disabled
5. The Solar Siren will acknowledge signals
from the Remote Control, Keypad and Control
Panel by beeping and flashing the LEDs. It is
possible to disable these acknowledgement
beeps DIPSwitch4 marked “BEEP SOUND”.
ON beeps enabled
OFF beeps disabled
CHARGING THE SOLAR SIREN
BATTERY
Before getting your system up and running, it is
important to initially charge up the battery for the
Solar Siren for approximately 4 hours.
1. Remove the rear battery cover as shown
below.
2. Connect the 6V NiMH battery pack inside as
shown below.
3. Connect the Control Panel’s 12V Power
supply adaptor to the DC charging jack
shown above and plug the adaptor into the
mains to charge the battery.
4. Charge the battery for approximately 4
hours. In the meantime you can install the
PIR movement detector, door/ window
contact detector and Control Panel in
position.
5. After charging is complete, remove the
Control Panel’s adaptor and refit the siren’s
battery cover in place.
Note: The Control Panel cannot be fully installed
until the Siren has completed charging.
