Compressor
replacement
Sostituzione
del compressore
• Before proceding with compressor
replacement determine conditions that
could justify this operation.
For this purpose we suggest that the
following checks should be made:
CAUTION:
Stand clear of compressor terminals
when working on the compressor.
With system under pressure, terminals
could explode.
In case of compressor replacement follow
the steps below:
• Follow all safety codes.
Use safety glasses, work gloves and a
water-soaked quenching cloth.
• Shut-off the power to unit.
• Remove wiring from the compressor.
• Purge or remove all refrigerant and
pressure from the system.
• Cut suction and discharge lines.
Use a tubing cutter at a convenient place
near the compressor to facilitate
reassembly with copper slip couplings.
• Wait until the compressor is cool, and
carefully unbraze piping stubs.
CAUTION:
The torch flame can ignite oil vapour in
the piping stubs; use quenching cloth if
necessary.
• Using an Ohmmeter, check replacement
compressor motor for "open", "ground" or
"short" circuits.
• Install the old piping stubs on the new
compressor and carefully braze into
place.
• Clean the system. Add or replace liquid or
suction line filter-drier.
• Install the new compressor and braze into
place with field supplied copper slip
couplings.
• Connect wiring; replace wire terminals if
necessary.
• Evacuate and recharge unit.
• Prima di procedere alla sostituzione del
compressore determinare le condizioni che
possono giustificare queste operazioni.
A questo scopo suggeriamo di fare i
seguenti controlli:
ATTENZIONE
Quando si lavora sul compressore stare
lontano dai terminali elettrici. Con il
sistema sotto pressione i terminali
possono scoppiare.
In caso di sostituzione del compressore si
devono svolgere le seguenti operazioni:
• Seguire le misure di sicurezza. Utilizzare
occhiali di sicurezza, guanti da lavoro e
indumenti di protezione
• Togliere l’alimentazione elettrica dall’unità
• Rimuovere i cavi dal compressore
• Rimuovere tutto il refrigerante e la
pressione dal sistema
• Tagliare le linee di aspirazione e manda-
ta. Utilizzare il taglia tubi in un posto
adeguato, vicino al compressore per
facilitare il riassemblaggio con giunti di
rame
• Togliere con cautela la brasatura dai
terminali delle tubazioni tenendo lontano il
compressore dalla fiamma
ATTENZIONE:
Il vapore dell’olio nelle tubature può
prendere fuoco, utilizzare tute di prote-
zione se necessario
• Utilizzando un Ohmmetro, controllare se
gli avvolgimenti del motore del compres-
sore sostituito sono “interrotti”, “a terra” o
in “cortocircuito”
• Installare le tubazioni esistenti sul nuovo
compressore e procedere alla brasatura
• Pulire il sistema e aggiungere o sostituire il
filtro della linea di liquido o di aspirazione
• Installare il nuovo compressore e
procedere alla brasatura dei giunti in
rame preparati sul posto
• Collegare i cavi; sostituire, se necessario,
i terminali dei cavi
• Eseguire il vuoto e ricaricare l’unità
