Refrigerant charge
Gas tightness testing and dehydration
38MHJ and 38MC units are shipped fully
charged with refrigerant 22 ready for
operation. If, when the unit is run,
symptoms of loss of charge (for example,
abnormally low cooling capacities) are
detected conduct a leak test followed, if
necessary, by a gas tightness test using
compressed nitrogen. For the latter all
refrigerant must be removed from the
circuit. Transfer the refrigerant to a storage
tank and then rinse circuit.
WARNING:
If any brazing is to be done the
refrigerant circuit must be filled with
nitrogen. Combustion of refrigerant
produces toxis phosgene gas.

Le unità 38MHJ e 38MC sono fornite con
refrigerante 22 pronte per il funzionamento.
Se, mentre l’unità sta funzionando, si
evidenziano sintomi di perdita di carica (per
esempio un abbassamento nelle capacità di
raffrescamento), eseguire un test di
controllo usando una bombola di azoto. Per
questo tutto il refrigerante deve essere
rimosso dal circuito. Trasferire il refrigeran-
te in un recipiente di stoccaggio e evacuare
il circuito.
ATTENZIONE:
Se è necessario saldare qualche parte il
circuito refrigerante deve essere riempi-
to con azoto. La combustione del
refrigerante produce gas tossico
fosgene.

Points to check prior to start-up
Do not attempt to start-up the units, even
momentarily, until the following steps have
been completed.
All electrical and refrigerant connections
must be properly completed.
Check the adjustment of all electrical
connections.
Ensure that there are no refrigerant leaks.
Check that the power supply coincides
with that stated on the nameplates.
Check that the fan rotates properly.
All the panels should be fitted and firmly
secured with the corresponding screws.
The unit should be started up under the
supervision of a qualified refrigeration
engineer.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Never use the compressor as a
vacuum pump.
If more refrigerant is needed, add gas
very slowly via the suction line. Liquid
must never be introduced in the
suction line.
Never overcharge with refrigerant.

IMPORTANTISSIMO:
Non usare mai il compressore come
una pompa del vuoto
Se è necessario più refrigerante,
aggiungere gas molto lentamente
attraverso la linea di aspirazione. Non
si deve mai introdurre liquido nella
linea di aspirazione
Non introdurre mai quantità eccessive
di refrigerante
