Πρέπει να γνωρίζετε, ότι σε άτοα ε πολλούς ύες (Body Builder) η BMI-ερηνεία εφανίζει υπέρβαρο
σωατικό βάρος. Η αιτία γι’ αυτό είναι, ότι στον τύπο BMI δεν λαβάνεται υπόψη η πολύ περισσότερη υ-
ϊκή άζα.
Ποσοστό σωµατικού λίπους
Οι ακόλουθες τιµές σωµατικού λίπους αποτελούν ενδεικτικές τιµές (για περισσότερες πληροφορίες παρα-
καλείσθε να απευθυνθείτε στο γιατρό σας!).
Άνδρας Γυναίκα
Σε αθλητές διαπιστώνεται συχνά µια χαµηλότερη τιµή. Ανάλογα µε το είδος του αθλήµατος, την ένταση της
προπόνησης και τη σωµατική κατάσταση µπορούν να επιτευχθούν τιµές, οι οποίες βρίσκονται ακόµα πιο
κάτω από τις αναφερόµενες ενδεικτικές τιµές.
Παρακαλείσθε να προσέχετε όµως, ότι σε ακραία χαµηλές τιµές µπορεί να υφίσταται κίνδυνος για την
υγεία σας.
Νερό σώµατος
Το ποσοστό νερού στο σώµα βρίσκεται φυσιολογικά στις ακόλουθες περιοχές:

Το σωµατικό λίπος περιέχει σχετικά λίγο νερό. Για το λόγο αυτό σε άτοµα µε ένα υψηλό ποσοστό σωµατι-
κού λίπους το ποσοστό νερού στο σώµα βρίσκεται κάτω από τις ενδεικτικές τιµές. Στους αθλητές αντο-
χής αντίθετα µπορεί να υπάρξει υπέρβαση των ενδεικτικών τιµών λόγω του χαµηλού ποσοστού λίπους και
υψηλού ποσοστού µυϊκής µάζας.
Ο υπολογισµός νερού στο σώµα µε αυτή τη ζυγαριά δεν είναι κατάλληλος για να εξαχθούν ιατρικά συµπε-
ράσµατα για π. χ. εναποθέσεις νερού λόγω ηλικίας. Ρωτάτε κατά περίπτωση το γιατρό σας.
