Start the engine following
the instructions and with
care. Ensure that you keep
your feet far enough away
from the cutting tool.
Danger of injury!
Never put your hands or feet
on or underneath rotating
parts.
In order to prevent fire
hazards, keep the engine, in
particular cooling ribs, and
exhaust as well as petrol
tank free from grass, leaves
or oil.
Always wear robust shoes
and long trousers when
mowing. Never mow
barefoot or in sandals.
Always wear suitable
hearing protection when
mowing.
Never mow in the vicinity of
other persons, particularly
children, or animals.
The high grass mower must
not be lifted when starting.
Be particularly careful when
turning the mower around or
pulling it towards you.
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
Only operate the appliance
with the guard bar and apron
attached. Ensure that the
fastening elements are
properly tightened.
Before every use, visually
check the safety devices,
e.g. apron, guard bar, for
damage. If a safety device is
defective, it must be
replaced.
Carefully inspect the
complete area on which the
appliance is to be used and
remove any stones, sticks,
wires, bones and other
foreign objects.
Re-filling with petrol must be
performed before the engine
is started. When the engine
is running or is hot, the tank
cap must not be removed
and the tank must not be re-
filled with petrol.
Check the oil level regularly.
Operation
NOTE
The cutting pattern will be
better with a sharp blade
than with a blunt one. The
blade must therefore be
sharpened regularly
(dealer).
Cutting pattern
CAUTION
Risk of injury.
On hilly terrain, only work at
right-angles to and never
up or down the slope (front
wheel is fixed). The high
grass mower must not be
tipped when the engine is
started up.
NOTE
Fixing the front wheel
makes it easier to mow at
right-angles to a slope by
increasing the directional
stability (see section entit-
led “Adjusting the front
wheel”).
Throttle setting while
mowing
To prevent blockages at the
underside of the mowing deck
housing or apron, it is
recommended that the fuel
control is always in the
position "MAX" while
mowing.
Motorstop and blade
stop lever
This high grass mower has a
safety device for stopping the
engine and the mowing blade.
When the
P= motorstop and blade stop
lever is released, the
engine stops
immediately and the
mowing blade comes to
a complete standstill in
less than three seconds.
