Detach the vent connection unit from the top of the
appliance case by removing the screw at front. Slide
the vent connection unit back and lift clear (see
fig.10).
7.5 Fit the canopy shield.
Attach the canopy shield to the convection air outlet
aperture using the three thread cutting screws
supplied in the fire front pack (see figure 11).
Take care not to damage the vent safety shut-
off switch mounted at the top left of the
convection air outlet
7.6 “Visage” front only
Fit the two surround securing brackets to the
convection box side flanges with the screws
supplied. Be aware of the different orientation of
the brackets at left and right sides - See figure 11A.
8. GAS SUPPLY LINE
INSTALLATION
8.1 Gas connection to the appliance is 3/8”NPT.
8.2 Use only new black iron or steel pipes or copper
tubing if acceptable - check local codes. Note that in
USA copper tubing must be internally tinned for protection
against sulfur compounds.
8.3 Unions in gas lines should be of ground joint type.
8.4 The gas supply line must be sized and installed to
provide a supply of gas sufficient to meet the
maximum demand of the appliance without undue
loss of pressure.
8.5 Sealants used must be resistant to the action of all
gas constituents including LP gas. Sealants should be
applied lightly to male threads to ensure excess
sealant does not enter gas lines.
8.6 The supply line should include a manual shut-off
valve to allow the appliance to be disconnected for
servicing.
8.7 A plugged 1/8”NPT tapping must be installed in the
line. The tapping must be accessible for test gauge
connection and be immediately upstream of the gas
supply connection to the appliance.
8.8 Before the appliance is fitted into the fireplace
opening the supply line must be extended so that it
will project through the opening at back of the
convection box.
The supply pipe route to the gas valve / connector is
shown in figure 12.
