Fast temperature increase
This function is used for mixer heating circuits
a) to allow the mixer to reach its target value at target
boiler temperature shortly before the boiler is swit-
ched on again despite being fully open,
b) to allow, in the event of mixing circuits with a fixed
admixture, the target mixer value (also at target hea-
ter temperature) to be reached during the morning
heating-up operation even though the fixed admix-
ture reduces the mixing circuit temperature too far,
c) in order to facilitate an optimum control range for
the operation of the mixer. (Reliable operation is only
possible if the mixer only rarely needs to move to the
"open" stop, thus ensuring a better quality of cont-
rol).
For this reason you can set a common boiler tempera-
ture excess for all mixing circuits. This will increase the
current heating circuit target value by the value set.
Fixed value circuit/Fixed value control
This function is required for special applications such as
vent curtains, fans etc. This type of control is performed
at a fixed inlet temperature regardless of the required
room temperature and outside temperature.
All operating modes can be set for this type of control.
Demand-dependent switching off of heating works in
the same way.
Floor drying
The floor-drying function is used to “heat dry” a freshly-
laid heating layer according to instructions. All opera-
ting modes, including those selected by telephone, are
interrupted if this function is activated. The flow tempe-
rature of the controlled heating circuit is controlled
according to a pre-set program regardless of the out-
side temperature.
Starting temperature: 25°C
The operating mode is displayed together with the cur-
rent day and the target inlet temperature. The current
day can be set manually.
When the function is started, the current time of the
start is saved. The change of day takes place in each
case
exactly at this time.
After a mains off/on, the floor-drying begins with
the last active day.
Frost protection delay/ Heating frost protection
The heating frost protection function ensures protec-
tion from frost in the Off and Eco modes (outside the
time windows) in the heating installationand applies to
all connected heating circuits. To prevent the system
from freezing, the required room temperature is set to
the set set-back value and the heating circuit pump is
switched on if the outside temperature falls below 3 °C.
The frost protection function can be suppressed for a
certain period of time by setting a delay time (setting
range of 0 - 23 h).
Furthermore frost protection is activated regardless of
the measured outside temperature if it is established
that the measured room temperature is lower than the
set night set back temperature with a connected remote
control device.
Heating curve
The flow temperature in heating installations, calculated
as a function of the outside temperature, is known as
the heating curve. The flow temperature in the heating
circuit gets warmer the lower the outside temperature
becomes.
Hot water priority
The hot water priority switch is only active if the DHW
cylinder in hydraulic plans 5-8 is connected directly to
the priority switching valve or the charging pump for
the boiler. Cylinder sensor TD2 remains connected to
the VRS 620. With this hydraulic connection the boiler
can charge either the buffer cylinder or the DHW cylin-
der.
Hot water reheating for drinking water cylinder
Reheating of the drinking water cylinder (SP1 with
hydraulic plan 1–4 or SP4 with hydraulic plan 5–8)
always occurs if:
the cylinder circuit is within the programmed time
window,
the cylinder temperature is 5K below the preset tar-
get value.
The activated recharging delay prevents charging of the
cylinder for the preset length of time if there is a solar
gain present. In hydraulic plan 9, the reheating is initia-
ted by the VPM W fresh water unit. See the VPM W
manual.
Legionella
Legionella are water-borne bacteria which can quickly
propagate and cause serious lung diseases. They occur
wherever heated water provides the optimum condi-
tions for multiplication. Temporarily heating the water
to above 65 °C kills off the legionella.
