Menu functions

With the menu, you can set most functions of your
CP 5100 DR. You control the menu with the remote con-
trol; the menu itself is shown on the connected TV screen.
Important
The menu functions are only available if “DISC”
is selected as source.
Both devices must be turned on and the CP 5100 DR
picture must be visible on the television.
Press the button 50 “DVD” to select “DISC” as the source.
Press the button 51 “Setup. The main menu will ap-
pear on the screen.
Select the desired submenu with the navigation buttons
40▲▼ ” and press the select button 41” or the
navigation button 40. A submenu will appear.
You can open other submenus in this way and change
settings.
Press the navigation button 40” to return to the
previous menu.
You can exit at any time by pressing the button 51
“Setup.
If the menu appears in German (“Beenden” instead of
“Exit“), change the language to English:
Select the item “System” with the navigation buttons 40
▲▼ ” and press the select button 41” or the naviga-
tion button 40”.
Press the select button 41” or the navigation button
40” to access the “Sprache” submenu.
Press the select button 41” or the navigation button
40” again to access the submenu “OSD-Me.
Select the item “Englisch” with the navigation buttons
40▲▼ ” and press the select button 41. The menu
will change to English.
Press the navigation button 40” until only the main
menu is visible.

Aspect Ratio
Adjusting the display on the television:
4:3 Pan Scan – 16:9 movies are shown with the full height
on a 4:3 TV-set, but the sides are cropped.
4:3 Letterbox – 16:9 movies are shown with full width on
a 4:3 TV set with black bars on the top and bottom.
16:9 Wide – Correct setting for 16:9 TV-sets.

Adjusting the transmission encoding system for the con-
nected television:
NTSC – American standard
PAL – European standard
If in doubt, consult the operating instructions of your
television.
HD-Resolution
Setting the resolution for HD playback. Possible values:
480p/576p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p
You can also adjust these settings with the special func-
tion button “Resolution” (see “Special function buttons” on
page 16).
Video Output
Activating the analog video output:
SCART – Connection to the jack 15 “SCART” in standard
resolution via a SCART cable.
Component I – Connection to the component output 16
“Component” with normal resolution (interlaced compo-
nent).
Component P – Connection to the component output 16
“Component” with higher resolution ( progressive compo-
nent).
If in doubt, consult the operating instructions of your
television.
The outputs 26 “S-Video”, 27 “Composite” and 28
“HDMI” are always active.
Lip Sync”
Digital image-processing in the TV-set requires a certain
amount of time. To keep the image and sound in sync,
televisions delay the sound by a few milliseconds. To en-
sure that the sound of your DVD receiver is also in sync,
you can set the receiver’s audio delay from 0 to 250 ms
here. For this, move the marker on the scale using the
navigation buttons 40▲▼ ” and change the value using
the select button 41. You can also change this setting
with the button 38Audio” (see page 16).
