Menu System”
Language
Set the language for menus, subtitles and playback.
OSD Menu – Language for the menu functions (German
or English).
Disc Menu – Language for the DVD menus. Multiple
languages are available, provided they are supported by
the DVD.
Audio – Language for DVD playback. Multiple languages
are available, provided they are supported by the DVD.
Subtitle – Language for the subtitles for DVD playback.
Multiple languages are available, provided they are
supported by the DVD. The setting “Off” deactivates
subtitles.
“Parential”
Child lock for DVD playback. Some DVDs are labelled
for certain age groups and will be locked depending on
this setting. Unfortunately, many DVDs are not protected
accordingly; personal copies and DivX movies usually do
not have this protection scheme.
Lock Sys. – This protects the DVD/CD. For this, the four-
digit password (default setting0000”) must be entered
via the number pad on the remote control and confi rmed
with the select button 41. If the password is entered
incorrectly, the password prompt will appear again.
Unlock Sys. – This deactivates the protection. The pass-
word must be entered.
Rating – Adjusting the protection level. There are eight
levels available. They correspond to the recommenda-
tions of the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of Ameri-
ca) for the rating of movies:
2 – Intermediate rating
3 – PG (Parental Guidance), young children should be
accompanied by a parent.
4 – PG 13 (Parental Guidance 13), children under 13
years of age should be accompanied by a parent.
5 – Intermediate rating
6 – PG-R (Parents Guidance - Restricted), under 17 years
of age only when accompanied by a parent.
7 – NC-17 (No Children 17 and under admitted), viewing
only for ages 18 and up.
8 – Adult, only for adults.
No Limit – No restriction, check deactivated.
After selecting the level the four-digit password (default
setting0000”) must be entered via the number pad on
the remote control and confi rmed with the select button
41. If the password is entered incorrectly, the pass-
word prompt will appear again.
“Set PWD”
Changing the password: The old password must fi rst be
entered, then the new password must be entered twice.
Then press the select button 41. If the old password
was entered incorrectly or the two entries of the new
password are different, the password will be queried
again. Make sure to remember the new password! If
necessary, you can reset the DVD receiver to the factory
default settings (see “SW version” below).
Dimmer
Setting the brightness of the display 5:
3 (bright), 2, 1 (dark), Off
Power-on Vol
Set the volume after activation:
Last (last set volume), 20, 40
SW version”
You can see the version of the installed software (also
known as “Firmware”) in the upper fi eld. Firmware up-
dating is possible (see page 25).
Reset – This resets the device to the factory default set-
tings.
Important
All menu settings are lost when performing
reset!
MenuExit”
You exit the menu when you select this menu item and the
source “DISC” becomes active again.
