DUBBING (DECK B) TO (DECK A)
MAINTENANCE
This unit enables you to duplicate a pre-
recorded tape to another tape by using the
unit-in double deck mechanisms. It is
performed only one wa
y, from the DECK B
(playback) to DECK A (
recording).
Dubbing at normal Speed
Note:
Be sure the HIGH SPEED DUBBING switch
is SET
AT NORMAL in order to record
at no
rmal speed.
1.
Press the POWER switch to ON.
2. Set the
TAPE function selector.
3. Insert a p
re-recorded cassette into the
DECK B and a blank cassette into the
DECK A.
4.
Press the DECK A PAUSE button and
then p
ress the RECORD button.
5.
Press the DECK B PLAY button to start
dubbing.
6. Adjust the VOLUME & EXTRA BASS
cont
rols to desired sound level and
sound equalization.
Dubbing at High Speed
This unit is equipped with a HIGH SPEED
DUBBING system which allows duplicating
a p
re-recorded tape at approximately two-
thi
rds the time of the duration at normal
speed.
Slide the HIGH SPEED DUBBING switch,
and follow the same p
rocedure as instructed
in "DUBBING
AT NORMAL SPEED".
When dubbing a p
re-recorded cassette tape
at HIGH SPEED in
TAPE function, a
chattering sound is hea
rd. To avoid this, set
the VOLUME cont
rol to a minimum or set
the desi
red FUNCTION button according to
the sou
rce to be heard.
Note:
When the dubbing at HIGH SPEED is in prog
ress,
do not
release the HIGH SPEED SWITCH, since
this will vary the speed of the program and ruin the
recording.
Power Switch
After using the unit, turn off the power by
releasing the POWER switch.
Cleaning the unit
To keep the unit clean, simply wipe with a soft
clean cloth moistened with plain lukewarm
wate
r.
Cleaning the Heads
To ensure the continued high performance
of your unit, periodically clean the heads and
pinch rollers to prevent accumulation of dust
or tape oxide deposits. Failure to clean these
parts may result in inferior sound quality,
dist
ortion of recorded sound, deterioration
of
reproduction of high frequencies, and
inconsistent tape speed.
1. Open both cassette compartment lids.
2.
Moisten a cotton bud with head cleaner
or methylated spirit and apply to the
faces of heads, rubbing gently until all
traces of dirt or oxide a
re removed.
Also clean the surfaces of the pinch
rollers and the capstans.
3.
Dr
y, clean and polish the faces of the
heads with a piece of cloth.
Stylus (needle) Replacement
Replacement of a wo
rn stylus can be easily
accomplished as follows.
1. Raise the "
Tone Arm."
2.
To remove the old stylus, pull out the
stylus assembly in the di
rection shown,
holding the head shell with other hand.
3. Then install the new stylus by pushing it
gently into the cartridge (hold by the
edge to p
revent damage to stylus) until it
clicks into place.
