that the number plate, indicators, rear lights,
brake lights and reflectors are not obscured by
the carrier and/or your bike. If you have any

Transport in vehicles
As a rule, this is the safest way to transport
your bike.
Make sure that your bike is securely fastened
inside the vehicle. Use elastic lashing belts
or similar.
If the bike is transported on its side, make
sure that cables and leads are not bent too
much.
When travelling by air and generally when tra-
velling make sure there is enough protection
for the frames and stem. For example, use
hard-top cases for transportation.
When transporting with disassembled front
and/or rear wheel it is recommended to fit
an appropriate distance piece (100 mm front
wheel / 135/142 mm MTB or 130 mm road
bike rear wheel) in order to avoid damage.
Quick-releases
Quick-releases consist of a cantilever on one
end that translates a lever movement into a
clamping force by means of a cam. On the other
end is the so-called pre-tensioning nut which is
adjusted on the threaded axle.
Tips for using quick-releases.
The quick-release lever for your wheels
should always be on the left side.
Due to the different axle lengths of the front
(100/110 mm) and rear (135/142 mm)
wheels, your ROTWILD bike has two quick-
releases with different lengths.
Open the quick-releases until the inscription
OPEN faces towards you. When you want
to close it again, you will find that the lever
closes easily to about the half-way point –
i.e. no locking function.
During the second half of the closing proce-
dure, the effort needed to close the release
must increase considerably until the lever can
only be moved with the ball of your hand.
In its final position, the lever must be parallel
to the forks or rear assembly. It should not
protrude so far that it can be inadvertently
opened.
When the lever is closed, it should no longer
be possible to turn it. If this is possible, this
means that the quick release is not correctly
locked and that it may work loose. In this
case, open the quick release and repeat the
procedure described.
When you have finished, simply lift your
wheels from the ground. A securely attached
wheel can no longer be pushed or pulled out
of the axle mountings.
DETAILED OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
SEAT POSITION
In addition to the option of adjusting the
handlebar/stem assembly to suit your riding
requirements, the correct adjustment of the
saddle position and angle also has a considera-
ble influence on your comfort while cycling. The
saddle position can be adjusted with the sliding
seat post. This adjustment not only changes the
distance of the saddle to the handlebars, but
also the position of your hips above the pedals
– depending on how far forward or to the rear
you adjust your saddle, your position relative
to the pedals changes so that you pedal from
a greater or lesser distance from behind the
pedals. To ensure the least strenuous pedalling
position, the saddle angle should be as horizon-
tal as possible. Only in this position, are both a
comfortable sitting position and a low bracing
effort against the handlebars ensured.
Saddle height
In order to avoid fatigue and ensure a safe
ride, the saddle height should be adjusted to
match your physical proportions. The following
