energy to the pedals in the most efficient way,
it is necessary to adjust your position for so-
called „round“ pedalling. This means that it is
important that the ball of your foot is positioned
over the centre of the pedal axis and your hips
remain straight.
Make this adjustment while wearing the
footwear you usually wear when cycling.
Adjusting the saddle height
An incorrectly fixed saddle can work loose and
cause you to lose control over your bike, lea-
ding to dangerous situations in which you and/
or other persons could suffer injury. So please
make sure that the seat post is inserted into
the seat tube at least to the mark „ Min. insert“
and always ensure that the quick-releases are
securely closed.
The tension can be regulated by adjusting
the knurled screw.
Open the quick-release lever and adjust the
saddle height to approximately match your
size. At the same time, adjust the front end of
the saddle to point in the direction of travel.
Close the quick-release lever. Please note:
There must be a noticeable resistance when
closing the quick-release lever.
Make sure that the seat post does is not pul-
led out of the seat tube beyond the maximum
extension point. The mark indicating this point
may not be visible, if this is the case, the seat
tube or seat post may break while riding.
Before you take your place in the saddle,
make sure that the seat post is securely fixed.
Stand next to your bike and try to twist the
seat post. If the seat post rotates, increase
the tension on the quick-releases until the
seat post is secure.
Turn the crank until the pedal is located at its
lowest position.
Take your place in the saddle and put your
heel on the pedal. The saddle is correctly
adjusted when your leg is stretched straight
in this position.
Check the stretch of your leg by setting the
ball of your foot on the pedal. Your leg should
now be slightly bent.
Note
The saddle tube is not allowed to be rubbed
down or otherwise mechanically worked. The
minimum insertion depth for the saddle tube
averages 90 mm.
Saddle position – adjusting the angle
Make the adjustments on a level surface.
Loosen the both retaining screws of the seat
post with the help of a fitting allen key. Turn the
screws a maximum of 2 turns anti-clockwise.
