HOW TO USE A CUSTOM WORKOUT
1. Insert the key into the console.
See HOW TOTURNON THE POWER on page 16.
2. Select a customworkout.
To select a custom
workout, press one of
the Custom buttons re-
peatedly. When a cus-
tom workout is selected,
the displays will show
the maximum incline setting, the duration of the
workout, and the maximum speed setting of the
workout. In addition, three columns of indicators
will appear in the matrix. Note: If only three
columns of indicators scroll across the matrix,
see HOW TO CREATE A CUSTOM WORKOUT
on page 19.
3. Start the walking belt.
Pressthe Startbutton, one ofthe speedincrease
buttons, or oneof the numbered speed buttonsto
start the workout. A moment after you press the
Start button, the treadmill will automatically adjust
to the first speed and incline settings that you pro-
grammed previously. Hold the handrails and begin
walking.
Each custom workout is divided into several one-
minute segments. One speed setting and one in-
cline setting are programmed for each segment.
Note: The same speed and/or incline setting may
be programmed for consecutive segments.
The custom workout will function in the same way
as a speed workout (see step 3 on page 18).
If desired, you can redesign the workout while
using it. To change the speed setting or the in-
cline setting for the current segment, simply

ressthespeedorinclinebuttons.Whenthecurrent
segmentends,thenewsettingwillbesavedinmem-
o
ry.Toincreasethelengthoftheworkout,first
waituntiltheworkoutiscompleted.Then,pressthe
Startbuttonandprogramspeedandinclinesettings
forasmanyadditionalsegmentsasdesired.When
you have added as many segments as desired,
press the Stop button twice. Todecreasethe
lengthoftheworkout,presstheStopbuttontwice
atanytimebeforetheworkoutiscompleted.
To stop the workout temporarily, press the Stop
button. Torestartthe workout,press theStart but-
ton. The walking belt will begin tomoveat 1mph.
Whenthe nextsegment ofthe workout begins,the
treadmill willautomatically adjust to thespeed and
inclinesettings programmed forthenextsegment.
4. Follow your progresswiththe displays.
See step 5on page 17.
5. Measure your heart rate if desired.
See step 6 on page 17.
6. Turn on the fans if desired.
See step 7 on page 17.
7. When you are finished exercising, removethe
key from the console.
See step 8on page 17.
