1. Hold the body of the pool sensor and unlock the upper part by
turning it counter clockwise and separate it carefully from the
body.
2. Insert batteries observing the correct polarity (see marking).
3. Screw the two parts together again. Ensure that the cover is
flat and sufficiently tight secured (markings should
correspond). This will prevent water from entering the batter y
compartment and subsequently damage the unit.
HOW TO INS TALL AND REP LACE BATTER IES IN THE
TEMPERATURE S TATION
The temperature station u ses 2 x
AAA, IEC LR3, 1.5V batteries. To
install and replace the batteries,
please follow the steps below:
1. Open the battery compartment
by pushing the battery cover
upwards with your thumb.
Insert batteries observing the
correct polarity (see marking).
2. Replace compartment cover.
SETTING UP
1. First, insert the batteries in the outdoor transmit ter (see “To
install and replace batteries in the temperatur e
transmitter” above).
2. Then, insert the batteries in the pool sensor (see “To install
and replace batteries in the pool sensor” above)
3. Within 15 seconds of powering up the outdoor transmitter and
pool sensor, insert the batteries in the temperature station
(see “To install and replace batteries in the temp erature
station” above). Once the batteries are in place, all segments
of the LCD will light up briefly. Following the indoor
temperature/humidity and the time as 00:00 will b e displayed.
If this information is not displayed on the LCD after 60
seconds, remove the batteries and wait f or at least 60
seconds before reinserting them. Once the indoor data is
displayed user may proceed to the next step.
4. After the batteries are inserted, the temperature stati on will
start receiving data signal from the outdoor transm itter and
pool sensor. The outdoor temperature data should then be
displayed on the temperature station. If this does not happen
after 5 minutes, the batteries will need to be removed fro m all
units and reset from step 1.
5. In order to ensure sufficient 868 MHz transmission however,
the distance between the temperature station and the outdoor
transmitter should not be more than 100 meters an d 25
meters to the pool sensor (in water). (see notes on
“Positioning ” and “868 MHz Receptio n ”).
Note:
In the event of changing batteries of the units, ensur e the
batteries do not spring free from the contacts. Always wait at
least 1 minute after removing the batteries before reinserting,
otherwise start up and transmission problems may occur.
6. Once the outdoor data reception period is completed, the D CF
tower icon in the clock display will start fl ashing in the upper
left corner. This indicates that the clock has detected that
there is a radio signal present and is trying to receive it. W hen
the time code is received, the DCF t ower becom es
permanently lit and the time will be displayed.
RADIO-CON TROLLED TIM E RECEPT ION
The time base for the radio controlled time is a Cesi um Atomic Clock
operated by the Physikalisch Techni sche Bundesanstalt
Braunschweig. It has a time deviation of les s than one second in one
million years. The time is coded and transmitted from Mainflingen
near Frankfurt via frequency signal DCF-77 (77.5 kHz) and has a
transmitting range of approximately 1,500 km. Your radio-controlled
clock receives this signal and converts it to show the preci se tim e.
‘Changeover from summer time or winter time is automatically.
The quality of the reception depends greatly on the g eographic
location. In normal cases, there should b e no reception problems
within a 1.500 km radius of Frankfurt.
DCF reception is done twice daily at 02:00 and 03:00 am. If the
reception is not successful at 03:00 am, then the next reception takes
place the next hour and so on until 06:00am, or un til the reception is
successful. If the reception is not successful at 06:00 am, then the
next attempt will take place the next day at 0 2:00 am.
Please take note of the following:
The recommended distance to any interfering sources like
computer monitors or TV sets is a minimum of 1.5 - 2 meters.
Within Ferro-concrete rooms (basements, superstructures),
the received signal is naturally weakened. In ex treme cases,
please place the unit close to a window and/ or point its front
or back towards the Frankfurt transmitter.
During nighttime, the atmospheric disturbances are usually
less severe and reception is possible in most cases. A single
daily reception is adequate to keep the accuracy deviation
under 1 second.
FUNCTION BUT TONS:
Temperature station :
The device has 3 easy to use function butt ons: 1 button on the front,
and 2 buttons on the back
LCD SCREEN
The LCD screen is split into 4 sections displaying the inf orm ation for
time, indoor temperature and hu midity, outdoor tem peratur e and pool
temperature.
* When the signal is successfully received by the temperature
station, the outdoor reception icon will be switched on. (If not
successful, the icon will not be shown on LCD ). The user can then
easily see whether the last reception was successful (icon on) or not
(icon off). On the other hand, the short blinking of the icon shows that
a reception is currently taking place.

TIME ZONE S ETTING
The time zone default is 0h. T o set a different tim e zone:
1. The value of the actual set time zone will be flashi ng.
2. Using the + button, set the time zone. The range runs from –
2h to +5h in consecutive 1 hour inter vals.
3. Confirm with the SET button and enter the “Time receptio n
ON/OFF setting”.
TIME RECEPTI ON ON/OFF SETTING
In areas where no DCF-77 time is possible, you also have the
possibility to deactivate the DCF reception manually (OFF) . The
clock will then work as a normal quartz clock. (Defa ult setting is ON).
1. The symbol “ON” will be flashing on the LCD.
2. Use the + button to deactivate (OFF) the time recep tion
function.
3. Confirm with the SET button and enter the “12/24-Ho ur
Display setting”.
Note:
If the time reception f unction is deactivated (OFF) manually, the
clock will not attempt any receptio n of the radio-controlled time
(DCF time) as long as the time rec eption OFF function will be
activated (ON) again. If the time reception is dea ctivated (OFF)
the DCF symbol disappears.
12/24 HOUR TIM E DISP LAY SETTING
1. “24h” will be flashing.
2. Press the + button to select the “12h” or “24h” di splay m ode.
