lares 4.0 PROGRAMMING MANUAL

rev. 0/2018
Wireless devices
The wireless devices are grouped by type, and then separately identified in order to properly manage the smallest
differences between them.
To program the Wireless devices, click on the icon (
) and then on the symbol ( ). Then select the device you
require by clicking on the (
) symbols and then type the serial number on the peripheral label.
To add another device belonging to the same section (e.g. wireless sensors, wireless I/O modules, etc.), click again on the
symbol (
). Otherwise, to end the session, click on ( ).
In some wireless devices, it is required to program the monitoring time.
The monitoring interval represents the maximum time that elapses between two transmissions by the same wireless
device even if there have not been any status changes such as, for example, an alarm.
These periodic communications are used by the control panel to verify the persistence of the radio link with all wireless
devices. The higher this value is, later the control panel will perceive the loss of the radio link with the wireless devices.
On the other hand, programming a very low value can shorten the battery life due to more frequent transmission by
the devices. Depending on the programmed value, the behaviour of the control panel in the generation of the messages
concerning the radio communication fault or tampering varies as described below.
If the wireless devices are programmed with a monitoring interval equal to 1 minute, the control panel generates a
'wireless fault' and the 'loss of wireless device' event if it does not receive any transmission in a 100-second interval.
If all wireless devices are programmed with a monitoring interval of more than 1 minute, the "loss of wireless device"
event is generated in case the control panel does not receive any transmission from the single device for a period equal to
the greater one of 2 hours and the double of the interval if the monitoring is programmed for the device.
The control panel does not check the integrity of the radio link for devices that have a monitoring interval programmed
to 0. We recommend using this programming only for devices used in home automation applications and not for security
applications.
Wireless siren
imago WLS
The parameters available for imago sirens are:
• Description: the name given to the device (e.g. WLS outdoor siren, etc.)
• Serial number: this is the code which identifies the peripheral. Simply update the serial number to acquire the new
peripheral and to keep any previously saved settings if the device is being replaced.
• Supervision: maximum time between two consecutive transmissions.
• Maximum alarm time: maximum time to the activation of the audible and luminous signal of the siren.
When the maximum time expires, the siren will stop even if it does not receive the reset command from the control
panel.
• Temperature sensor: If this option is disabled, the siren does not send the temperature to the control panel and the
external temperature will not be displayed on the keypad (this is useful if there are two sirens, and one is installed in a
position exposed to the sun, leading to false outdoor temperature measurement).
Note: if this option "Temperature sensor" is enabled on the siren but the display on the keypad is disabled (see the
opt. display outside temperature), the temperature will not be shown.
• Bi-tonal buzzer: If this option is selected, the audible signal is made through a sound with two distinct frequencies; if it
is not selected, the "sweep" mode is performed in frequency.
