This mower is equipped with a mechanism to enable to easily

switchoverbetween thebagging operationandmulching opera-

tionmodes.Use themachinechangingovertheoperationmode

according tothe conditionofoperation.Understand well theap-

propriateoperationconditionforthebaggingandmulchingoper-

ationmodes.

Mulching" is engaged or dis-

engaged via an appropriate

lever(2) (see4.10).

Operatethemulchingleverwiththegrassbagremovedtoconfirm

that the front (underside) area of the mulching shutter is not

cloggedwith grassor grasshasnotadheredtothearea.

Ifthereisgrassinfrontoftheshutter,removeitwithasticketc.

Forcibly operating the lever with the cablenot

correctlyadjustedor with grass stackedinside can causebreak-

age of the cable or deformation in the bracket by excessive

loadto occur.If you feel thelevertooheavy,don'tmoveitbyforce

but contact your dealer.

After mowing

Oncemowingiscompletefortheday,cleaning thecutterdeck,dis-

chargechuteandthegrassbagwillpreventtroublesandensuretrou-

ble-freeoperationnexttime.

Stoptheengine,pullonthekey,applytheparkingbrakeandremove

thegrassbag.

Confirm that the discharge chute is not clogged with grass looking

fromthechuteopening (ifclogged,removethegrass).

5.4.9 Endofmowing

Whenyouhavefinishedmowing,disengagetheblades,lowertheen-

gine speedand returnwiththe cutting deckinthe highest position.

5.4.10 Endofwork

Stopthemachine,puttheacceleratorleverinthe«SLOW»position

andturnofftheengine byputtingthekeyintothe«OFF»position.

Thisoperationmakesthefuelvalveautomaticallyclose.

Always take out the ignition key if leaving

the machine unattended!

5.4.11 Cleaningandstorage

Putthemachineawayinadryplace protectedfrom weatherand,if

possible,coverwithacloth.Aftereachmowing,cleantheoutsideof

themachine,emptythegrass-catcherandshakeittoremoveresid-

ualgrassandearth.

Lookforandeliminateallthegrassthathasaccumulatedinsidethe

enginecompartmentandabovethecuttingdeck,tokeepthemachine

atan optimallevelof efficiency.

Always empty the grass-catcher and do not

leave containers full ofcut grass inside a room.

The dumping

switch operatesonly with thebla-

des disengaged.

– with the operator seated, keep

thebutton(3)( 4.9.2)pressed

until the grass-catcher is com-

pletelytipped over;

– once emptied, keep the button

(4) ( 4.9.3) pressed until the

grass-catcher has completely

gone down while checking that

thepawl(2)stayshookedon.

At times the au-

dible warning may be heardat the

moment of engaging the blade

even when the grass-catcher has

beenemptied.Thisisdueto grass-

cuttings left on the sensor of the

micro-switch (1). To stop the sig-

nal, disengage the blades and

then immediately engage them again. If the warning sound con-

tinues, stop the engine, take off the grass-catcher and remove

any accumulated grass-cuttings from the sensor (1).

5.4.7 Unblockingthecollector channel

Cutting very tall or wet grass, particularly at too high speed, can

causethecollectorchanneltobecomeblocked.Shouldthishappen,

itwill benecessaryto:

– stopforwardmovementimmediately, disengagethe blades, stop

theengine andremovethekey;

– takeoffthe grass-catcherorstone-guard;

– removetheaccumulatedcuttings,reachingthemfromtheoutletof

thecollectorchannel.

This job must only be performed with the

engine turned off.

5.4.8 “Mulching”function

"Mulching"impliesrecyclinggrassinsidethecuttingdeckandatthe

sametime finelychopthe mowngrassandleaveitonthelawn.

Ifthegrassclippingsaredischargedfromaroundthecutterdeckor

dispersed inwads duringmulching operation,itis possiblethat the

grassistoolongorcuttingsizeistoolong.Cuttingsizeformulching

shouldbesetroughlyto1/3fromthetipofthegrassheightcutto4-

5inches (10-13cm)beforemulching.
