Servicing Instructions - Replacing Parts

4. Pilot Unit

4.1 Remove the main burner, see Section 3.

4.2 Carefully cut the cable ties holding the thermocouple to the

pilot pipe.

4.3 Remove the ignition lead from the electrode, undo the 2

retaining screws and remove the pilot, see Diagram 12.

4.4 When replacing the pilot ensure the thermocouple follows its

original route, i.e. along the pilot pipe. Attach the

thermocouple to the pipe with new cable ties.

4.5 Set the spark gap, see Diagram 13.

5. Ignition Lead

5.1 To access the back of the pilot assembly, see Section 3.

5.2 Disconnect the ignition lead from the electrode.

5.3 Remove the front cover from the control valve by removing

the retaining screw, see Diagram 14 and gently levering

clear with flat bladed screwdriver, see Diagram 15.

NOTE: There is a small cylindrical metal spacer inside

the cover, this must be kept and replaced on the fixing

screw on re-assembly.

5.4 Disconnect the end of the ignition lead from the valve body,

see Diagram 16, Arrow B, note the existing route of the

ignition lead.

5.5 Replace with a new ignition lead following the same route

as the old one.

Replace the valve cover and the pilot assembly.

5.6 Check operation of the new ignition lead.
