The brewing unit is positioned.
• DESCALING changes with IN PROCESSS
Descaling process of the brewing unit
starts.
The program carries out several cycles.
During the descaling process the display
indications “DESCALING” to “IN
PROCESS” are shown repeatedly and
alternately. The pause times, which are
displayed by the indication ”IN PROCESS“
to “IN PROCESS IIIIIIIIIIII” , are for the
cleaning agent to take effect.
• WAIT
The brewing unit is positioned.
Caution! Risk of scalding when the
steam valve is in use!
Hot water can cause scalding. Only use
the steam valve when holding a container
underneath or turn the steam valve into
the position in which liquid can flow into
the drip tray.
4 OPEN STEAM VALVE
Open the steam valve, the descaling
process above the steam valve starts.

valve into the position in which liquid can

5 CLOSE STEAM VALVE
Close the steam valve. Fig. 40
6 EMPTY WASTE CONTAINER
Empty and clean the coffee grounds
container. The coffee grounds container
serves as a collecting vessel for the
descaling water. Put the coffee grounds
container back into the appliance. Fig. 37
7 CLEAN DRIP TRAY – PRESS OK
Pull out the drip tray, rinse thoroughly
and insert. – press button g “OK “. Fig. 39
8/9 CLEAN & REFILL WATERTANK – PRESS OK
Pull out the water reservoir, rinse
thoroughly, fill with 1 litre of fresh water
and insert – press button g “OK “. Fig 41,

Method phase 2: rinse

Open the steam valve, the rinsing process
above the steam valve starts.
• UNIT RINSES
The program carries out a fresh water
flushing through the steam valve.
The pump switches off automaticly after
the rinsing process is finished.
• CLOSE STEAM VALVE
Close the steam valve.
• WAIT
The brewing unit is positioned.
• UNIT RINSES
The program carries out a fresh water
flushing through the brewing unit.
The pump switches off automaticly after
the rinsing process is finished.
• EMPTY WASTE CONTAINER
Empty and clean the coffee grounds
container. Put the coffee grounds
container back into the appliance.
• CLEAN DRIP TRAY – PRESS OK
Pull out the drip tray, rinse thoroughly
and insert. – press button g “OK “.
• REFILL WATER – PRESS OK
Pull out water reservoir, fill with fresh
water and put back again –press button g
“OK “.
• DESCALING COMPLETED
The descaling programme has finished
when this display indication appears. In case
of power failure during the descaling process
the program has to be started again!
• The appliance is now ready for operation
again and the status is that of the last
coffee mode selected. We recommend
pouring away the first cup of coffee made
after running the descaling programme.
