switching the heater back on. If damage has occurred, do not use the heater, but take it
to your supplier for repair.
(only with the PH2750C) if an excessive CO² level is detected in the air. In that case, do
not attempt to immediately reactivate your heater. First ventilate thoroughly, refresh the
air and wait until the temperature in the room drops.
G. RE-ACTIVATING THE HEATER
After you have switched your heater off you must wait for at least five minutes before
switching it on again. If the combustion chamber has not had an opportunity to cool down, re-
ignition may lead to the emission of odours.
H. INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE OF YOUR HEATER
ATTENTION: It is strictly forbidden to work on the following components:
- The safety system
- The fuel indicator glass
Keep your heater clean. Clean it regularly, check that there are no grease remnants and
remove traces of fuel that have been spilled on the fuel tank during filling. This is in order to
prevent unpleasant odours.
When you fill the fuel tank always check that it is still in good condition. If the tank
leaks, is dented or is rusty you must replace it immediately. A new tank is available at your
supplier or from the customer service department.
Clean and maintain the wick regularly.
The cleaning of the wick and the wick environment must take place outdoors or in a well
ventilated space. This is because a strong, unpleasant odour may be released during
cleaning.
1. Ignite the heater and wait until it switches off without intervention.
2. Re-ignite the heater after it has switched itself off and then allow it to go out again.
3. When the wick is cold you can use a small, soft metal brush or an old toothbrush to
remove soot, tar and carbon particles from the top part of the wick.
4. When you have done this, the wick must be flexible. However, it is possible that certain
parts of the wick will remain hard. You must then use a flat pincer to squeeze the hard
particles that remain on the wick. If you are still not satisfied with the result you can
repeat this procedure, putting a little fuel into the tank beforehand. If the result is still
unsatisfactory, contact the customer service in order to have the wick replaced.
Ensure that none of the particles around the wick do not fall into the cylinder during cleaning.
Check the condition of the wick before every use in order to ensure that it is not
contaminated with carbon, which would make the top of the wick stiff and brittle, or met soot
and tar, which makes the wick extremely black. This can have serious consequences:
- problems when using the knob to raise the wick
- problems with the ignition
- poor combustion
- problems with de-activation.
These problems may occur after two or three fuel tanks have been used. However, we
recommend that you systematically clean the heater in the manner described below every
week during the heating season. You must also clean the heater regularly outside the
heating season, but this depends on the condition of the wick.
Check for the presence of soot, tar or carbon on both sides of the wick. If this is the
case, you must carefully scratch the relevant surfaces clean with a flat screwdriver, ensuring
that no particles fall into the cylinder that surrounds the wick.
