4. INSTALLATION
The whole machine is fixed on the working table with four Hexagon bolts.
Location:
(1) Use a solid, flat working table.
(2) Do not install the lathe in a place with direct sunshine, heavy moisture, a
lot of dust or corrosive moisture.
Before start up
Check following points before switching on the machine:
1. Remove the anti-rust protection.
2. Remove all obstacles around the machine.
3. Remove all tools from the lathe.
4. Check if the power voltage is correct (230 V).
5. Wipe the grease from the machine.
6. Check if the 3 set screws of the chuck are tight.
7. Turn the chuck by hand and check if it rotates freely.
8. Move the feeding direction selector from the back of the body to the middle.
9. Check if the switch is at “OFF” position. Adjust the speed control knob by
turning to the lowest speed position and plug in the cord.
10. Turn the switch to the “ON” position and run for 3 minutes. Check to see
that the machine operates normally.
11. Check the compound set crank and cross feeding crank to see that they
work properly. If they are too tight or too loose, turn the adjusting screws
located at both sides.
12. During the operating process, watch out while you are manipulating the
machine. In case that there is any unusual phenomenon, please stop the
lathe and repair immediately.
Attention
1. Before starting up, first check if all parts are lubricated according to the
instructions in this manual. Also check if all tool workpieces etc. are in
proper position.
2. Always use your hand to dismount the chuck or the lathe’s face plate; do
not use power tools.
3. After installation of the chuck, remove the wrenches and tools in order not
to cause any accidents when the machine is turned on.
4. During operation of the lathe, do not use a wrench to fix or adjust the
workpiece or any other rotating parts of the machine.
5. When the machine is in motion, do not use any instruments to measure the
machine, nor test the sharpness of the cutter with your hand.
6. Do not use too large a tool cutter to do your feeding with too large a
workpiece. This can easily cause an accident in consequence of a broken
workpiece.
