Bea
Set
the
stove
down
on
the
floor
carefully
without
bumping
and
position
it
in
the
required
place.
Before
doing
this,
make
sure
the
floor
can
take
the
weight
of
the
stove,
otherwise
consult
a
specialised
technician.
2.2 Adjusting the quantityof combustion air
Primary air:
The
primary
air
is
adjusted
with
the
aid
of
the
sliding
adjuster
below
the
door
and
it
feeds
the
fire
through
the
slot.
Secondary air:
The
secondary
air
is
introduced
into
the
stove
by
means
of
the
sliding
adjuster
above
the
firebox
door.
Combustion
is
optimum
when,
on
loading
firewood,
the
air
needed
for
combustion
feeds
the
flame
by
passing
through
the
grating,
while
the
secondary
air,
passing
through
the
adjuster,
enables
completing
combustion
at
the
top
of
the
firebox.
2.3 Instructions for safe installation
Flue
stoves
must
be
installed
by
a
technician
taking
account
of
local,
national
and
European
regulations.
The
appliance
must
be
placed
on
a
floor
of
adequate
capacity
for
the
weight,
otherwise
corrective
action
can
be
taken
at
the
advice
of
specialized
technicians.
No
flammable
or
heat-sensitive
parts
must
be
kept
in
the
zone
of
radiation
towards
the
glass.
The
minimum
distance
at
the
front
in
order
to
protect
flammable
items
is
40-80
cm.
The
distance
from
the
side
and
the
back
wall
to
any
flammable
or
heat-sensitive
parts
must
be
at
least
20
cm.
If
the
base
is
made
offlammable
material
(wood,
cork,
etc.)
there
must
be
a
protective
base
of
steel
plate
2-3
mm
thick
or
a
plate
of
tempered
glass.
2.4 Connection to the flue
The
BEA
firewood
stove
is
connected
to
the
flue
with
connecting
supports
on
the
top
of
the
stove
body
and
by
means
of
pipes
for
burnt
gases
that
are
easily
available
on
the
market.
The
connection
to
the
flue
must
be
made
with
stable
and
sturdy
pipes
with
a
minimum
recommended
thickness
of1.5-2
mm.
The
exhaust
gas
pipe
must
preferably
be
straight,
to
prevent
any
drops
in
pressure,
and
in
the
direction
of
the
flue.
The
single
parts
of
the
exhaust
gas
pipe
must
be
tight.
The
draught
must
be
between
0.1
mbar
and
0.15
mbar.
Regular
stove
operation
isguaranteed
only
if
the
draught
in
the
exhaust
gas
pipe
comes
within
the
regular
values.
The
draught
must
always
be
measured
with
the
stove
hot
(nominal
heat
yield).
If
the
negative
pressure
exceeds
0.17
mbar,
it
isnecessary
to
apply
an
additional
draught
adjuster
on
the
exhaust
pipe
or
in
the
flue.
Each
appliance
that
generates
combustion
fumes
must
dispose
of
them
through
its
own
flue;
the
same
flue
must
never
be
used
for
more
than
oneappliance.
2.5 Flow of air into the room
It
is
absolutely
necessary,
in
rooms
where
open
flue
stoves
are
installed,
for
the
air
necessary
for
combustion
to
be
introduced,
that
is
up
to
20
every
hour.
The
air
must
flow
through
fixed
openings
on
the
outside,
whose
cross-section
depends
on
the
current
local
regulations.
These
openings
must
be
protected
with
grilles
and
must
never
be
obstructed.
If
the
supply
of
air
is
insufficient,
even
a
suction
hood
or
extractor
fans
operating
in
the
room
can
have
a
negative
effect
on
the
operation
of
the
stove.
2.6 Tips on flues and fittings
Flues
must
be
made
of
suitable
materials
and
be
perfectly
insulated
with
such
characteristics
as
to
allow
no
drops
in
temperature.
The
inside
walls
must
be
perfectly
smooth
and
there
must
be
no
constrictions
or
protrusions
along
the
full
length
so
as
to
create
no
friction
or
vortices
in
the
smoke
that
would
considerably
reduce
the
draught.
Any
doors
for
cleaning
and
inspection
must
be
perfectly
closed
during
operation.
The
flue
outlets
must
be
0.5
m
higher
than
anyobstacles
if
these
are
at
a
distance
of
less
than
10
m
and
they
must
end
with
chimney
pots
with
a
useful
outlet
cross-section
no
less
than
twice
the
cross-section
of
the
flue.
The
following
two
figures
give
the
data
for
the
distances
and
the
positioning
of
the
chimney
pots
according
to
the
requirements
of
UNI
10683/98.
