primary
air
is
necessary
for
the
process
of
combustion;
it
is
therefore
recommended
to
empty
the
ash
box
regularly
so
that
no
ash
can
obstruct
the
entry
of
air
for
combustion.

Secondary
air
supply

secondary

The
secondary
air
is
used
to
burn
the
unburnt
gases
produced
by
the
combustion
process

1.4 Permissible and non-permissible fuels
Permissible
fuels
are
blocks
of
firewood
of
the
natural
kind,
dry
and
resin
free
(beech,
oak
and
birch)
of
20-25
cm
in
length.
Firewood
should
be
seasoned
for
at
least
two
years;
the
maximum
recommended
level
of
humidity
is
20%,
so
as
to
ensure
combustion
without
smoke
or
soot.
It
is
recommended
not
to
use:
-
-
coal
dust;
-
finely
cut
pieces
of
wood
(permissible
only
when
lighting
the
fire);
-
bark
and
shavings;
-
waste
in
general;
-
treated
cardboard
and
paper;
-
wood
treated
with
substances
for
protecting
wood.
The
combustion
of
waste
is
prohibited
in
compliance
with
European
and
national
laws.
Burnt
gases
deriving
from
the
combustion
of
unsuitable
materials
can
damage
the
stove
and
flue,
and
considerably
impair
your
health.
If
any
fuel
not
in
compliance
with
the
above
is
used,
warranty
is
invalidated.
