Before
installing
a
stove
to
an
old
flue,
besides
observing
what
has
already
been
described,
it
will
be
necessary
to
check
there
are
no
openings
or
cracks
through
which
air
can
pass
that
would
decrease
the
temperature
and
impair
the
idraught.
Lastly,
check
there
are
no
obstructions
caused
by
foreign
bodies
or
soot
deposits
accumulated
over
years
of
operation.
It
is
advisable
for
the
first
coupling
section
leaving
the
kitchen
to
be
vertical,
while
the
flue
fitting
entering
the
chimney
that
leads
to
the
chimney
pot
must
be
inserted
by
a
few
centrimetres
so
as
not
to
decrease
the
cross-
section
of
the
flue.
If
the
flue
is
not
perpendicular
to
the
axis
of
the
chimney
it
is
advisable
to
make
the
NO
connection
with
special
steel
fittings
that
permit
a
maximum
tilt
of
45°.
In
the
case
of
walls
and
ceilings
made
of
flammable
materials
it

to

insulate
the
portion

with
the
flue
appropriately.
In
addition,
it
is
necessary
to
carefully
seal
the
fittings
at
the
coupling
points
especially
where
the
fitting
enters
the
flue.
If
there
is
more
than
one
range
in
the
same
dwelling,
each
one
must
have
its
own
flue.
It
is
not
recommended
to
make
any
openings
in
the
flue
to
apply
other
appliances
since
the
draught
could
be
impaired.
According
to
the
UNI
7429
standard,
the
chimney
must
respect
certain
requirements;
firstly,
it
must
have
a
useful
outlet
cross-section
of
at
least
twice
the
cross-section
of
the
flue.
In
addition,
it
is
preferable
to
install
a
“anti-wind”
chimney
pot
fitted
with
winged
profiles
that
ensure
fume
exhaust
even
when
there
are
strong
horizontal
winds.
