ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
General notes
a) The electrical connection must always be made according to the wiring diagram glued in the terminal
compartment of the storage tank and may only be carried out by a licensed specialist!
b) The specications on the specication label must always be observed (voltage, type of current, power
and heating time).
c) An all-pole circuit breaker with a 3 mm contact opening width must be installed in the electrical supply
line. Automatic circuit breakers are also permissible as switching devices.
d) The connection cable is fed into the connection area of the tank through the cable feed-through collar
(behind the water connection pipes on the underside of the tank) and then secured via the strain-relief
mechanism.
e) The cover on the lower right side of the device must be removed in order to wire the connection cable
to the connection terminals.
f) The tank must be completely disconnected from all poles of the power supply according to EN 50110
(ÖVE, TAEV) before starting any installation work or other intervention.
The unit must be secured against switching on of the supply voltage (remove fuses, switch o circuit breaker)
before performing any further work.
Rewiring possibilities
With tanks allowing a selectable heating time, the heating rods must be rewired according to the wiring
diagram glued inside the device. The factory wiring corresponds to a 6-hour heating time using a ~ 230 V
connection voltage. The 3 ~ 400 V or 3 N ~ 400 V three-phase wiring possible with 100 litre devices and
upwards must also be rewired on site according to the following table. Switchable heating times, power
and associated fuse currents. Bold values represent the factory settings (6 hrs. 230 V).

The special model EKF 123 D is equipped as standard with a heating power of 3.3 kW and a supply vol-
tage of 3~400 V at 31/3 hours heating time.
This device cannot be switched to a dierent power.
