must be covered with  reproof materials all around (about 80 cm). Pay also attention to joisted  oor layers and
any electric wiring.
5. Keep a distance of at least 50 cm (in all directions) between the stove and supporting steel construction parts.
6. Shield o all combustible materials within a radius of 100 cm from the stove openings with non-combustible
materials.
7. Never cover the chimney breast with combustible material (e.g. paper covering).
8. The wall behind the stove must consist of, or be insulated with,  re-proof materials. The insulation material
must resist a temperature of 700 °C and have a density of 80 kg/m3. Please see for insulation materials table
page 41).
Installation
The Ruby is tested in accordance with the international EN 13240 standardization, and has an extra additional
standardization for optimally environment-friendly heating devices related to  ue gases. The stove can be
connected to a  ue tube to which several stoves are connected. The  ue tube has a diameter of 150 mm.
Supply of combustion air
The stove must have enough supply of fresh combustion air. If necessary, make an extra air supply opening as
close to the stove as possible to avoid draught. An extra opening for air supply is always required if:
the space has a heat recovery system.
the space has a central exhaust system.
there is a cooker hood in the same space.
The air supply opening must be closable if it goes through a  re-resistant wall. When there are several combustion
devices in the same space there must be enough air openings to guarantee proper combustion.
External air connection
The fresh air supply channel has a diameter of 100 millimetres. The air supply channel can be  tted via a bottom
or rear connection. If the optional base is used, the connections can be  tted through the base. For the hanging
version, the optional connection cabinet OND.2004 must be installed under the stove. If the external air supply
goes through a  rewall, that channel must be able to be shut o . If the channel is longer than 1 meter, including
a bend of 90 degrees, the channel’s diameter will need to be increased.
Sizes for both situations can be found on page 58.
Connecting the stove
The Ruby is a heavy wood stove. Depending on the version, the Ruby weighs at least 130 kilos, including the
2-meter long smoke-gas discharge. Make sure the wall or  oor that you are installing the stove on can easily carry
this weight. Before installing the stove, follow the directions in the previous chapter ‘Preparation. Protect your back
and the  oor during installation.
Hanging version:
1. Check the packaging, and report any visible damages.
2. There are 3 di erent boxes for installation (1x the stove + 1x the side panels + 1x the glass plate)
3. Take the stove out of the box (mind your back),
4. Take the wall bracket (sizes on page 58) for the stove out and mount it to the wall,
