e) Continuity test ( )
Make sure all circuit parts, circuits, components, and other objects of measurement are disconnected from
the voltage supply and fully discharged.
1. Set the function dial to .
2. Short press the SEL button 3x to select continuity test, “Ω ” will show on the display.
3. Connect the test leads to the terminals:
- Red test lead to the terminal.
- Black test lead to the COM terminal.
4. Connect the test lead probes to the correct test points in the circuit.
5. Aresistanceof≤30Ωisconsideredcontinuity,andabeepwillsound.
- Themeasuringrangeis≤600Ω.
- “OL” will appear on the display if the maximum range is exceeded or if the circuit is open.
6. Whennishedmeasuring,disconnectthetestleadsandswitchthepowerOFF.
f) Diode test ( )
Make sure all circuit parts, circuits, components, and other objects of measurement are disconnected from
the voltage supply and fully discharged.
The test voltage is approximately 3V.
1. Set the function dial to .
2. Short press the SEL button 2x to select diode test, “ ” will show on the display.
3. Connect the test leads to the terminals:
- Red test lead to the terminal.
- Black test lead to the COM terminal.
4. Check the lines for continuity by connecting the two test leads. The value should be approximately 0.000 V.
5. Connect the test lead probes to the correct test points on the diode.
- “OL” will appear on the display if the polarity is reversed or if the circuit is open.
- The normal PN junction forward voltage is approx. 500 to 800 mV.
6. Whennishedmeasuring,disconnectthetestleadsandswitchthepowerOFF.
