Removing / installing

the upper cover

Removing the covering

hood:

• MB 6 RV:

Unscrew tank cap.

Loosen

29= bolt and remove bolt to-

gether with washer.

Lift

D= covering hood upwards

and remove.

Installing the covering

hood:

Guide the four

35= locking pins into the

holes in the side panels

and push downwards in

direction of arrow. Then

using gentle pressure,

press down on the

D= covering hood. Tighten

29= bolt together with washer

(4 - 6 Nm).

• MB 6 RV:

Screw on tank cap.

Cleaning the appli-

ance

Clean the high grass mower

thoroughly after use. Looking

after your appliance carefully

will protect it against damage

and extend its service life.

Clean the underside of the

high grass mower with water

and a brush. Release any

accumulated cutting deposits

in the housing beforehand

using a stick.

Never sprinkle engine

components, seals, bearing

points or electrical parts with

water. This would result in

expensive repairs.

Clean the mowing blade.

Do not use aggressive

cleaning agents. These

cleaners can damage plastics

and metals, impairing safe

operation of your VIKING

mower.

If you are unable to remove

the dirt with water, using a

brush or a cloth, VIKING re-

commends the use of a spe-

cial cleaner (e.g. STIHL

special cleaner).

Please note:

When performing cleaning or

maintenance work, empty the

tank, fold the handlebar

forwards and tilt the high

grass mower as shown; the

spark plug must point

upwards.

Each time the appliance

is used

CAUTION

Risk of injury!

Before tipping up the

mower, place it on firm,

level and flat ground and

select the lowest cutting

level (level 1).

Appliance may tip over du-

ring operations in this posi-

tion (see Figure 15). Always

stand to the side of the ap-

pliance. Never work in front

of or behind the mower.

Removing the side panels:

Loosen

31= screws and remove the

screws and washers

(two screws at the sides,

two at the rear).

Loosen the

34= screw and remove.

32= Push the tab in direction

of arrow and remove the

side panels.

Installing the side panels:

Assemble the side

panels on the mower,

guide the cables through

the apertures in the side

panels as shown and

ensure correct positioning

32= tab.

Tighten

34= screws to 1 - 2 Nm.

Fasten the side panels

with the

31= screws with washers to

the mower and tighten

(twice on the side, twice

on the rear) (4 - 6 Nm).
