RADIO DATA SYSTEM (RDS) ON FM
STATION NAME
The set displays the name of the station instead
of its frequency.
ALTERNATIVE FREQUENCY (AF)
This set continuously search for other alternative
frequencies for the tuned radio station and
automatically selects the best frequency for
reception.
Note : You can switch off AF when not required,
see 'SETUP'; option 'AF'.
DISPLAY OF PROGRAMME TYPE (PTY)
If an RDS station is stored on a preset, you can
check the type of programme being transmitted
(e.g. news, sports, etc...)
Press the relevant preset key (1 to 6).
ALARM MESSAGES (PTY ALARM)
This set automatically receives emergency
messages made by the broadcaster.
During the messages the display shows
'ALARM' and the station-name alternately.
TRAFFIC ANNOUNCEMENTS (TA) AND NEWS
You can activate the TA and/or NEWS modes to
give priority so as to hear announcements related
to these subjects, (even if you play a cassette or
mute the set)
Activate/deactivate TA/NEWS
Press BAND to select an FM band :
Press key to change the mode as follows:
TA mode on only.
TA and NEWS modes on.
NEWS mode on only.
Both TA and NEWS modes off.
If you activate TA/NEWS mode :
You will hear the Traffic/NEWS Announcements
when broadcast by station (even if you play a
cassette or mute the set).
If the tuned station does not enable the
reception of Traffic Announcements, the display
shows ‘NO TA’. The radio automatically
searches an appropriate station.
Interrupting Traffic Announcement/News
mode
Press key to interrupt TA/NEWS without
switching off the mode.
The set will return to the previous operating
mode.
Note:
You can switch off RDS features if not required.
See 'SETUP', option 'RDS'.
- All RDS related features e.g. , TA, etc... will be
deactivated when option 'RDS' is set to 'OFF'.
CASSETTE PLAYER
PLAYBACK
Slide the cassette, with the open side to the
right into the cassette opening. Playback starts.
If a cassette is already inserted, press
SOURCE to select cassette as source.
Playback starts.
FAST FORWARD
• Press halfway until it locks to fast forward.
Press the key again to stop fast forward.
CASSETTE EJECT
Press fully to eject the cassette.
CARE OF CASSETTES
Only use good quality cassettes of 60 or 90
minutes playtime.
Clean the tape head (once or twice a month)
using a wet-tape cleaning cassette.
SPECIAL FUNCTIONS
SETTING THE CLOCK (MANUALLY)
Press SETUP for more than 2 seconds to enter
the SETUP menu.
Press until you reach the option 'TIME'.
Press SETUP to alter the Choice to '12H' or
'24H'.
Press until you reach the option 'CLK'.
Press SETUP to alter the Choice to 'MAN'.
Press to select Hour digit
Display shows e.g. '0000' (24 hour format)
or 'AM 12:00' (12 hour format).
Hour digit start flashing.
Press SETUP to adjust the Hour digit
Press to select Minute digit
Minute digit start flashing.
Press SETUP to adjust the Minute digit
The clock starts operating from the selected
time.
Press SETUP for more than 2 seconds to leave
the SETUP menu.
10 seconds after any key operation, the
display will always show the time when clock
mode is activated.
RDS CLOCK (AUTO UPDATED)
You can select an automatic update of the clock
via the RDS radio signal.
See SETUP; option 'CLK'.
The transmitted time via RDS can be incorrect.
