Exhaust duct
For the Truma boat water hea ter only the Truma Stain less
Steel Exhaust Duct AEM 24 (part no. 39430-00) and the com-
bustion air supply duct ZR 24 (part no. 39440-00) are to be
used, as the appliance has only been tested and approved
with these ducts.
The ends of the stainless steel exhaust ducts are sharp,
make sure to use working gloves when carrying out as-
sembly work.

Permissible duct lengths for wall cowl:
30 – 150 cm. Duct lengths of up to max. 50 cm can be rou ted
as required, as ascending duct or descending by max. 5 cm.
Route the duct with a bend (as shown in Fig. A) to pre vent
splash water from en tering.

Permissible duct lengths with deck cowl:
50 – 200 cm. The duct routing must be ascending at an angle
of at least 30°.
Connection of the exhaust gas double duct to
the water heater

Press end of ex haust duct (1) together so that winding touch-
es winding. Slide clamp (4) over exhaust duct (1). Slide ex-
haust duct over O-ring on the connection fitting (2) up to the
collar (3). Attach with clamp (4) in such a way that the knurled
edge of the clamp encloses the collar. Fasten combustion air
supply duct (5) on the connection fitting (6) using clamp (7).
Always install a new O-ring following any dis assembly!
Assembly of the wall cowl

Assemble wall cowl on as flat a surface as possib le, which is
well exposed to wind from all directions. Drill a hole of 70 mm
diameter (12). Sealing is carried out with the enclosed rubber
seal (13) without further sealing compound!
For greater wall thicknesses first connect ducts to the cowl
from the outside.
Slide rubber seal (13) and clamp (19) onto the cowl inner
part (15). Press end of exhaust duct (1) together so that wind-
ing touches winding, slide over the O-ring on the connection
fitting (18) up to the collar (bend pointing upward) and tighten
clamp (19) in such a way that the knur led edge of the clamp
enclo ses the collar.
Coat serrated connection fitting (14) with plastic body seal-
ant – do not use silicone! – and slide over combustion air
supply duct (5).
Fasten cowl inner part (15) with 3 screws (16) (observe instal-
lation position! The Truma lettering must be at the bottom).
Mount cowl outer part (17) and screw on with 2 screws (20).
Always mount cover cap (21) when the heater is not being
used.
Always install a new O-ring following any dis assembly!
Assembly of the deck cowl

Assemble deck cowl on as flat surface as possible, which is
exposed to wind from all directions. Drill a hole of 80 mm di-
ameter (22). Sealing is carried out using the enclosed cellular
rubber seal (23) without any further sealing combined.
In the case of greater roof thicknesses, first connect the ducts
to the cowl from the outside.
Pass cellular rubber seal (23) and clamp (19) over the ducts.
Press together the end of the exhaust duct (1) so that win-
ding touches winding and slide over the O-ring onto the
connection fitting (24). Fasten using clamp (19) in such a way
that the bead edge of the clamp grasps around the collar.
Slide combustion air duct (5) over the connection fitting (25)
and fasten with clamp (11).
Fasten cowl part (26) with screws (27). Screw on cowl
cover (28) with three screws (29). Always close the deck
cowl when the water heater is not being operated.
A new O-ring must always be installed after any
disassembly!
Water connection
All pressure and submergible pumps up to 2.8 bar are used
for operating the boiler and all mixed combination sets with
or without an electrical switch.

When using immersion pumps, a non-return valve (30 – not
included in the scope of supply) must be fitted between the
pump and the first branch point (arrow points in direction of
flow).

When using pressure pumps with high switching hysteresis,
hot water may flow back through the cold water tap. To pre-
vent the backflow, we recommend that a non-return valve
(31 – not included in the scope of supply) be fitted between
the outlet to the cold water tap and the drain valve.
Pressure and hot water-resistant hoses with an internal
diameter of 10 mm should be used for the boiler and the
safety/drain valve connections.
For fixed pipe routing (e.g. John Guest System) Truma can
supply the water connections (35 + 36), the safety/drain
valve (32) and a non-return valve (30 + 31) with a 12 mm
diameter inner connection as accessories.
If connecting to a central water supply (rural or city connec-
tion) or when using more powerful pumps, a pressure re-
ducer must be used which prevents pressures of greater than
2.8 bar occurring in the boiler.
Route the water hoses so that they are as short and
free of kinks as possible. All hose connections must be
secured using hose clamps (also for cold water)! Pressures
of up to 3.5 bar can occur in the safety/drain valve (also in
submergible pumps) because of the heat of the water and the
resulting expansion.
Hose clips (part no. 40712-01) are recommended for attaching
the hoses to the wall or the floor. If gas heating has been in-
stalled, the water hoses and the hose clips can be laid on the
hot air pipes, which prevents frost.
In order to guarantee that the boiler is completely emp-
ty, the enclosed elbow with breather valve (fig. E: 35)
must be used for the hot water connection!
All hot water pipes should be routed in a descending
manner to the safety/drain valve! There shall be no
claims under guarantee for damaged caused by frost!
