Remark : If the Orfeo 100 does not end the connection when the call is
answered by another parallel connected phone, this can be done by
pressing the On/Off button.
5.5. SWITCHING OFF THE ANSWERING MACHINE DURING
REGISTRATION
If you press the On/Off button while the answering machine is in communication
with a caller, the connection will be broken without warning signal.
The registered part of that message will be lost.
5.6. MESSAGE COUNTER
The On/Off / Message Counter LED shows the total amount of registered (old as
well as new) incoming and memo messages. If there are new incoming or memo
messages, the Message Counter LED flashes, indicating the number of messages
received (for ex. 2 messages = 2 x flash). The maximum number of messages
that can be received is 59. The LED also flashes when a new call comes in.
6. MESSAGE PLAYBACK
6.1. PLAYBACK
1. Press the Playback button. The answering machine does not have to be
switched on to playback registered messages.
2. You will hear: “You have X memos” or “You have X new memos”; X is used to
indicate the total number of (new and old) memo messages.
3. After this announcement the answering machine will playback the memo
messages. Before each memo message the answering machine will say its
number and, after each memo message, the day and time it was registered.
4. After the playback of all memo messages, you will hear: “You have X mes-
sages” or “You have X new messages”; X is used to indicate the total number
of (new and old) messages.
5. After this announcement the answering machine will playback the (new and
old) incoming messages. Before each incoming message a voice tells you its
number and, after each message, the day and time it was registered.
6. After the playback of all messages, you will hear “End of messages”.

5. REGISTERING INCOMING MESSAGES
5.1. ANSWERING FACILITY WITH POSSIBILITY TO LEAVE A
MESSAGE
The answering machine will answer the call after the 4th ring and plays the out-
going message. As soon as the caller has left a message, the answering machine
will end the communication.
If no outgoing message is registered, the answering machine will not answer
calls in this mode.
5.2. ANSWERING FACILITY WITHOUT POSSIBILITY TO
LEAVE A MESSAGE
The answering machine will answer the call after the 4th ring and plays the out-
going message. After the outgoing message, the answering machine will
immediately end the communication.
If no outgoing message is registered, the answering machine will not answer
calls in this mode.
5.3. VOX & BUSY TONE
In the following cases communication will be broken during registration of
incoming messages:
a) After a silence of 7 seconds;
b) After an uninterrupted tone of 7 seconds;
c) After 4 on/off tones;
d) End of maximum registration time;
e) Memory full.
Before the communication is broken, the caller will hear “End of Call”.
When memory is full, the caller will hear: “No further messages can be stored”.
and the communication will be interrupted.
5.4. OFF HOOK SIGNAL
When the Orfeo 100 receives an off hook signal (i.e. if another parallel connected
telephone answers the call) the answering machine will break its connection not
to disturb the communication of the person who answered the call. The regis-
tered part of that message will be saved.
