BASE SETTINGS
9.1 Changing Base PIN
A base PIN is required to protect your base against
unauthorized use. It is set to 0000 at the factory.
You can change the base PIN as follows:
1. Press the MENU soft key to display the Main menu
items.
2. Press the navigation keys to choose
BS Settings, then press the SELECT soft key.
3. Enter the current base PIN to access the BS Settings
menu, and press the SELECT soft key.
4. Press the SELECT soft key to access 1:PIN Change
option.
5. Enter the new four-digits PIN you want to use for the
base, and press the SELECT soft key.
6. Enter the new PIN again to confirm it, and press the
SELECT soft key.
7. To exit, press the key.
✍If at step 3 you enter the wrong PIN, your phone returns
to Standby mode with a warning sound. Moreover, the
display does not show the PIN as you enter it in order
to maintain it secret.
✍If there are several handsets registered to the base unit,
the other handset users cannot access the BS Settings
menu without having the newly changed Base PIN.
9. Base settings
You can customize your base unit to suit your preferences using the BS Settings menu. This
menu is protected by a base PIN (Personal Identification Number) which is required for the
access.
✍You can set the date, time, and dial mode in the BS Settings menu. For information on how to set these
features, see paragraphs 2.7 and 2.8.
✍If you have more than one handset registered to the base unit and you are using the BS Settings menu
or registering a handset, nobody can access the BS Settings menu until you finish the base setup.
