HANDSET SETTINGS
Some telephone systems, such as PABX (Private
Automatic Branch of eXchange) or KTS (Key
Telephone Systems), require an access code (e.g. 9
or 0) to access an external line and listen for the out-
side dial tone before dialing the outside number. You
can set your phone in order to automatically insert
one-digit access code when you use a phone number
from the incoming calls list. For details about the in-
coming calls list, see the par. 4.3.
1. Press the MENU soft key to display the Main menu
items.
2. Press the navigation keys repeatedly to
choose HS Settings, then press the SELECT soft
key.
3. Press repeatedly the or key to choose
8:Access Code, then press the SELECT soft key.
4. Enter the one-digit access code by using the number
keypad, and press the SELECT soft key. When you
dial a phone number by using the incoming call list, it
will be dialed after the one-digit access code and the
preset pause time.
5. Press the key to return to Standby
mode.
8.6 Setting Access Code
If you reset the handset, all the user selectable fea-
tures restores to the factory preset initial settings: all
the numbers in phonebook will be erased, as well
as the incoming/outgoing call lists, the selected
language etc. It is mainly useful for two purposes:
• If you have made many wrong settings and you
want to restore the handset to the factory preset
initial settings.
• If the phone shows logical malfunctions (not
correct symbols on the display, incorrect behavior
etc.), the problem can be caused by a AC power
supply noise or an electrostatic spike which can
temporarily alter the memory of the internal micro-
processor. In this case the reset could solve the
problem.
To activate the reset:
1. Press the MENU soft key to display the Main menu
items.
2. Press the navigation keys repeatedly
to choose HS Settings, then press the SELECT soft
key.
3. Press repeatedly the or key to choose 9:
Handset Reset, then press the SELECT soft key.
Your phone asks you to confirm the selection.
4. Press the SELECT soft key to reset your phone.
5. To exit, press the key.
✍Be careful! When you reset the handset you will loose
any data stored in it (e.g. name and numbers in phone-
book). Don’t forget to note them down before resetting
the handset.
✍If necessary, you can also reset the base settings.
Please see the par. 9.5.
