Warning
If the pilot light goes out, you must wait at least 5 minutes before lighting the appliance again.
2.2 Operation of thermostat
The modulating thermostat ensures that the temperature selected with the thermostat knob (A) is precisely
maintained. If you set the thermostat knob (A), the burner will start burning at full power first of all, but will
then start to burn lower and find a stable setting. If the room temperature falls, the burner will start burning
higher until the correct temperature has been regained. This is regulated automatically by the thermostat.
2.3 Operation of glow-effect burner
The glow-effect burner will only start to burn if you open the slide (B) and only works if the thermostat knob
is set between positions 1 and 7. The required flame height has a continuously variable adjustment.
2.4 Operation of fan (only applies to HV model)
This fire is fitted with a fan system for fast heat emission. The fan comes into operation automatically if a
temperature of 60°C is reached in the fireplace. The fire is also fitted with a two-way switch (see page 10 fig-
ure 4-D) with which to regulate the rotational speed of the fan. Setting 1 = low speed and setting 2 = high
speed. If you switch the fire off, the fan will turn itself off in due course. Never use the fire if it is not possi-
ble for the fan to operate (the plug must always be in the socket therefore!).
2.5 Switching off the fire
* To turn the stove off completely, turn the thermostat knob to position ?. The pilot light will then go
out. We recommend, however, that you allow the appliance to continue burning on the pilot light dur-
ing periods when the appliance is being used.
* If the stove is out of use for a longer period, then it is also wise to shut off the gas stopcock in the sup
ply pipe.
2.6 Maintenance
* The stove can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. The appliance should be turned off immediately if
some thing is spilled on it and the marks can be removed with soft soap suds once the stove has cooled
down. Never use an abrasive!!!
* Any deposit on the glass can be removed with glass cleaner.
* It is advisable to have the stove and the chimney checked and cleaned by an installer before every heat-
ing season. If the special glass is broken or cracked, have it replaced at once, before you turn the stove
on again.
Warning
Gas stoves become hot when they are in use. Care must be taken therefore and children and invalids, for ex-
ample, should be kept away from burning stoves. Stoves must also never be installed on or against combusti-
ble materials (curtains etc.).
3. OUTLET SAFETY (T.T.B) (See page 9 figs. 2-4)
Purpose:
The appliance is fitted with a thermal outlet safety or T.T.B. (thermal draught protection), which switches off
the pilot light and the burner as well, therefore, if there is a leak of combustion gases out of the draught lim-
iter. The outlet safety must never be rendered inoperative.
Operation:
The detection device is a thermostat that opens an electrical contact when a certain temperature is exceeded,
thereby interrupting the thermocouple current. This causes the control block to switch off the gas supply to
the main burner and pilot light burner. The appliance can be ignited again after waiting 5 minutes for the de-
tection device to cool down.
