SYMPTOM ACTION TO BE TAKEN
The pilot flame does not burn after
repeated pressing on the ignition
button.
1. If you are switching the unit on for the first time or after a service, there is air in
the pipes. It will take a little while until all the air has flowed out of the pipes and
gas which can be ignited comes through. Take it away and try to switch on the pi-
lot several times in order to allow the air to escape.
2. See whether the gas pipe to the apparatus is open and that there is sufficient gas
pressure to the apparatus.
3. Check whether there are sparks between the spark electrode and the pilot. If there
are no sparks:
a) Check whether the connection between the electrode and the ignition is broken
or faulty.
b) Check whether the spark short circuits at another point or jumps.
c) Check whether the ignition is broken.
d) Check whether the electrode is broken.
4. Take the glass away and try to light the pilot with a match.
a) If air blows onto the match flame, start to repeat the process until the air
inthe pipe has escaped.
b) If no air or gas comes from the pilot pipe, then this is probably blocked
or the gas valve is perhaps broken.
The pilot flame does not continue to
burn following ignition.
1. Check whether the pilot flame is large enough to burn round the thermo-
couple. If the flame is too small you must check the gas feed pressure. If
the pressure is good you must adjust the height of the pilot flame on the gas
valve of the apparatus. If the height of the pilot flame cannot be adjusted,
there may be an obstruction in the pilot.
2. Check whether the thermocouple is connected to the gas valve properly.
The main burner goes out when the
apparatus is warm.
1. This can be a normal effect of the thermostat
2. Check whether the pilot flame can heat the thermocouple sufficiently.
3. If the pilot flame is too small then the gas pipe or the pilot flame adjustment must
be checked.
Soot deposits on the glass door. 1. Check whether the lava stones are well placed in the unit.
Always keep the pilot burner free of burner filling.
2. Check whether there is any blockage in the burner openings
3. Check that the flue gas outlet is functioning correctly and that nothing is blocking
or obstructing it.
5. Check the pre-pressure
Sharp blue flames which are re-
leased by the burner or a pilot which
burns too wildly.
1. Check whether the restriction plate is used. Weak (stifling) pilot flame.
2. Check pilot flame burner pressure or flue layout See page 16
1. Check whether button A2 turns and that the batteries are ok.
2 Possible defect of gasblock.
3 Check whether the pilot flame ignites the burner well.
4. Check that the burner opening is not blocked.
Main burner will not burn after the
pilot burner burns.
9. Problems and possible solutions
Please check first of all whether all guidelines were followed before attempting to solve any problems with the
stove.
WARNING:
Solving problems with your unit, whether gas related or electrical must always be carried out by a qualified
technician
