HOW TO START - STOP THE MOTOR /USING THE MACHINE

in order to switch the motor on and keep it running.
The motor will stop if either switch is released.
STOPPING THE MOTOR (Fig. 2)
To stop the motor:
– Release the switches (5) and (6).
FIRST unplug the extension lead (3) from the
mains socket (4) and THEN disconnect the
power cable (2) of the machine from the exten-
sion lead (3).
DANGER! When the motor is switched o, 
a few sparks may be seen near the ventilation slots;
this is perfectly normal and does not damage the
tool in any manner.
STARTING THE MOTOR (Fig. 2)
Before starting the motor:
Fasten the extension lead (1) to the cable clamp
on the rear handgrip.
FIRST connect the power cable plug (2) to the
extension lead (3) and THEN plug the extension
lead into the mains socket (4).
– Remove the blade protection devices.
Make sure the blade is not touching the ground
or any other object.
Make sure the handgrip is locked in the centre
position.
To start the motor:
1. Hold the machine rmly with both hands.
2. Press the safety switch (5) and then the switch
(6).
DANGER! Both switches must be enabled
WARNING! For your safety and that of
others:
1) Do not use the machine without having
read the instructions carefully. Become
ac quainted with the controls and the pro-
per use of the machine. Learn how to stop
the motor quickly.
2) Only use the machine for its intended
use, that is “the cutting and trimming of
hedges, consisting in plants with small sized
branches”. Any other use may be danger-
ous and severly da ma ge the machine. Ex-
amples of improper use may include, but
are not limited to:
general grass cutting and in particular,
near kerbs;
chopping material for composts;
pruning;
using the machine for cutting non-plant
material;
use of the machine by more than one
person.
3) Residual risks: even all the safety rule
are obeyed, there still can be a certain
residual risk, which cannot be excluded.
From the kind and construction of the tool
the foreseeable potential endangerments
can be:
Contact with the unprotected cutting
teeth.
Involve ngers or hands into the mov-
ing cutting blade.
Unexpected, sudden movement of the
cutting blade.
Thrown away of chips, it may damage
your eyes.
Damage of the hearing, if no protection
of the ears is carried.s
4) Keep in mind that the operator or user is
re sponsible for accidents or hazards oc-
curring to other people or their property.
5) Always wear suitable clothing when using
the machine. Your dealer can provide you
with all the information on the most suit-
able accident-prevention devices to guar-
antee your safety.
6) Mow only in daylight or good articial
light.
7) Thoroughly inspect the whole work area
and remove anything that could be thrown
up by the machine or damage the cutting
de vice (branches, iron wire, hidden wir-
ing, etc.).
8) Prevent the cutting device from touching
the electric cable. Use the cable clamp
