2.1.5 QUICK ACCESS TO ALARMS, TRACK AND AIS SETTINGS
The Quick Access menu provides a short-cut to important menu settings related to Alarms,
Track and AIS, so you do not have to enter the Main Menu. The Quick Access menu can
be activated by pressing and holding the
Intelligent key from Chart, Navigation or data
pages:
Alarms
Selects and sets up audible and visual alarms.
Arrival Alarm : Alerts when the vessel is approaching a single Destination point or a Waypoint in a Route.
Available selections: 0.00 to 4.99Nm. The default setting is Off.
XTE Alarm : Alerts when the vessel is deviating from a defined course. Available selections: 0.00 to
4.99Nm. The default setting is Off.
Depth Alarm : Alerts when the received depth value from the optional FF525 50/200kHz BLACK BOX FISH
FINDER is lower than the selected value. Available selections: 0000 to 3278ft. The default
setting is Off.
Anchor Alarm : Alerts when the vessel’s position changes more than the selected distance. Available
selections: 0.00 to 4.99Nm. The default setting is Off.
Audible Alarm : Turns On (default) or Off the alarm beep.
Grounding Alarm : Looks ahead of the vessel’s heading to see if a potential danger exists. When the Grounding
Alarm is enabled the CPN Series Chart Plotter will draw a triangle in front of the vessel on
the Chart page showing the area that is being searched. The safe depth can be set using
this function. The default setting is Off.
Grounding Alarm Range : Sets the length of the sector to be detected: 0.25Nm, 0.5Nm and 1.0Nm. The default setting
is Off.
Track
Sets up the Track function to lay down a Track for a predetermined time or distance interval.
Tracking : Turns On or Off (default) the Tracking function.
Step Unit : Allows to select Distance (default) or Time.
AIS
Configures the CPN Series Chart Plotter to receive AIS data:
Display : Turns the display of AIS Targets overlay on the cartography On or Off (default).
Activation Range : Defines the range from the fix within which the AIS Target becomes active. The values
allowed are from 0.1 to 20Nm. The default setting is 5.0Nm.
CPA Alarm : Turns On or Off (default) the CPA alarm.
CPA Limit : Defines the CPA limit. The values allowed are from 0.1 to 10Nm. The default setting is
0.5Nm.
TCPA Alarm : Turns On or Off (default) the TCPA alarm.
TCPA Limit : Defines the TCPA limit. The values allowed are from 1 to 30 Min.The default setting is 10
min.
