Note:
In any case, place the crumpet in the slots with the top side facing inwards, as indi-
cated by the engraved writing between the two slots.
Toasting bagels:
The CRUMPET/FRUIT BREAD function can be also used to toast bagels.
1. Place the bagels in the slots with the cut sides facing inwards, towards the en-
graved writing between the two slots.
2. To toast the bagels, press the CRUMPET/FRUIT BREAD button once, the but-
ton surround lights up white.
3. Select the desired degree of roasting by moving the roasting degree controller (H)
to the corresponding position. We recommend setting 1.
4. Press the TOAST/CANCEL button, the button surround lights up red. The bagels
are automatically lowered and centered, the heating elements on the insides of
the left resp. right slot pair are heated up according to the setting.
5. During the toasting process, the button surround of LIFT AND LOOK™ lights
up white, indicating that the toasting process can be checked and, if neces-
sary, stopped at any time. To check the roasting degree of the bagels press the
LIFT AND LOOK™ button, the bagels pop up for a few seconds. If the bagels
are sufficiently toasted, press the TOAST/CANCEL button to stop the toasting
process. Approximately 10 seconds before the toasting process is over, the but-
ton surround of LIFT AND LOOK™ goes out and the function can no longer be
activated.
6. When the toasting process stops and while the lifting mechanism is lifting up
the bagels, the button surround of TOAST/CANCEL flashes red. The LED bar on
the other hand does not flash, instead it lights up constantly up to the selected
roasting degree.
7. Once the toasting process has been completed and the bagels have been lifted up,
the Done-signal sounds. Remove the bagels, the button surround of TOAST/CAN-
CEL lights up white for 30 seconds to indicate that the appliance is ready for the
next toasting process. The button surround of CRUMPET/FRUIT BREAD remains
lit and needs to be pressed twice if another toasting process in the CRUMPET
function is not desired. Also, the button surround of CRUMPET/FRUIT BREAD
goes out after 30 seconds resp. if the power plug has been pulled.
CRUMPET/FRUIT BREAD button (C)
With this button, you can select either the CRUMPET or the FRUIT BREAD function
to adjust the toasting time resp. the activated heating elements to the corresponding
pastry. You can select from crumpet or bagel within the CRUMPET function.
CRUMPET setting (one-sided toasting for crumpets)
In the CRUMPET setting, only the heating elements on the insides of the left resp.
right slot pairs heat up to toast the tops of the crumpet while not toasting their
bottoms.
