Electronic Program Guide (EPG)
Digital television offers many advantages compared to traditional analogue TV broadcasts: not only
that picture and sound quality are much better, but also that plenty of additional information is broad-
cast over the same channel. This also includes the Electronic Program Guide (EPG). You can open
this to obtain details about current and future programmes, to check up on any schedule changes to
a show or to timer-schedule a programme.
To open the Electronic Program Guide:
1. Press the EPG button (37).
The Electronic Program Guide will show up in Daily Mode.
In the list on the left, all saved digital channels will appear. On the right-hand panel the programme
schedule for today shows up. The title bar of the right panel also contains the current date and day
of the week. The different programmes will appear in a 2-column list. The left column shows the
scheduled programme start. On the right, the title of the show is listed.
Not all digital channels broadcast programme information.
Viewing Detailed Information about a Programme
Similar to a TV programme magazine, the Electronic Program Guide can be used to read a short
description about a programme (for instance the plot of a movie). Proceed as follows:
1. Press EPG (37) to open the Electronic Program Guide.
2. Press or (32) on the remote control to select the channel for which you want to obtain its
programme schedule.
3. Press the direction button or (32) to go to the programme list.
4. Press or (32) on the remote control to select the programme for which you want to obtain
more information and press the yellow button (40) to display.
The programme schedule, language, rating and a short description about the programme will
be shown.
5. Press the direction buttons or (32) on the remote control to scroll down the short descrip-
tion and read more.
6. When nished, press the EPG button (37) and then the direction button or (32) to return
to the channel list. Repeat steps 2 to 5 to obtain more information about another programme.
Or press EPG (37) again to quit the Electronic Program Guide.
You can also press the EXIT button (33) to quit the Electronic Program Guide com-
pletely and continue watching the programme.
Weekly Schedule
If required, you can also view the programme schedule for the coming days. The Electronic Program
Guide includes a weekly calendar that also permits viewing details on the scheduled programmes.
1. Press EPG (37) to open the Electronic Program Guide.
2. Press the green button (43) to go to the weekly calendar.
3. Press the direction buttons or (32) to select a different date.
4. Continue as described in the previous section.
If necessary, you can press the red button (42) to return to the daily calendar view.
