7. Before first use
Clean the device prior to its first use (see
“Cleaning and storage” on page 20)!
Remove the protective film from the operating pan-
el|10.
NOTE: because the device is slightly greased when deliv-
ered, slight smoke and odour may be produced during its
first use. This is harmless and stops after a short amount of
time. Please ensure sufficient ventilation in the meantime.
8. Handling of the Multi-Pot
8.1 Opening lid (when cold)
Figure B:
1. Hold down the release button|24 while you turn the
lid|5 clockwise until the arrow marking|6 points to
the marking |19.
2. Remove the lid|5 upwards.
8.2 Placing lid in drip-dry position
Figure C: for example to drip-dry the hot lid, you can
place the lid|5 upright with the tab|4 in the recess in one
of the handles|20 of the base unit|17.
8.3 Closing lid
Figure D:
For pressure to be able to build up in the Multi-Pot, it is im-
portant that the lid|5 is closed correctly.
1. Place the lid|5 with the arrow marking T|6 pointing
to the marking |19.
2. Turn the lid|5 anticlockwise until the arrow
marking T|6 points to the marking |9. The lock-
ing mechanism will click audibly.
NOTE: when the lid|5 is on top of the base unit but not
correctly closed, signal sounds will be heard and the dis-
play|29 will show Lid.
8.4 Opening/closing pressure valve
DANGER! Risk of injury from scalding!
~Ensure that no body parts (e.g. hand or arm) are
above the pressure valve|1 when you open this using
the pressure valve button |2 and steam escapes.
There is a danger of being scalded by escaping
steam.
The pressure valve button |2 allows you to open and
close the pressure valve|1.
8.5 Pressure indicator
DANGER! Risk of injury from scalding!
~Before each use, you must check to ensure that the un-
derside of the pressure indicator|27 is clean and
moves freely (see “Preparations before each use” on
page 13).
~Ensure that no body parts (e.g. hand or arm) are
above the pressure indicator|23 when steam escapes
from it.
The pressure indicator|23 is a valve located in a recess in
the lid|5. Hot steam can flow out of this valve when pres-
sure has built up inside the Multi-Pot. You can see that the
Multi-Pot is pressurised when the pressure indicator|23 is
lifted.
Opening Closing

valve button |2 until it
clicks into place.
Press down the pressure
valve button |2 so
that it disengages.
