Cookeye
®
function
Cookeye
®
enables the power of the hotplate to be
automatically controlled via a sensor, and allows the
optimum temperature for the selected cooking
programme to be reached.
The hob has five assisted cooking functions,
controlled by the two Cookeye
®
modules which are
supplied with the appliance.
WATER
Informs you when the water has reached boiling
point and it is time to add the food you wish to cook.
SAUCE
This function is designed for simmering sauces on a
low heat.
MILK
Milk can be heated without boiling over.
OIL
Preheats oil without altering its properties before
food is added to the pan.
BUTTER
Melts butter without altering its properties before
food is added to the pan.
Starting the Cookeye
®
function
! The Cookeye
®
module is only compatible with
saucepans, frying pans and casseroles in the
Perfection range by Tefal.
1. Clip the Cookeye
®
onto the handle of the
cookware, turning it
towards the centre (see
figure).
2. Switch the hob on and place the cookware on the
required cooking zone.
3. Switch on the Cookeye
®
by pressing the red button.
4. The display shows SELECT A COOKING ZONE
and the 4 hotplate selection buttons at the side of
the display (corresponding to the inactive cooking
zones) will flash at the same time.
5. Press the button corresponding to the desired
cooking zone.
6. The display will show the menu with the list of
possible cooking programmes:
WATER
SAUCE
MILK
OIL
BUTTER
7. Select the cooking function by pressing the
and
buttons and press OK to start cooking.
The power level indicator for the selected hotplate
will display the different power levels during the
assisted cooking function.
! Depending on the initial temperature recorded by
the CookEye
®
, the hob may also automatically
activate the booster for the relevant hotplates.
Cooking with CookEye
®
It is not possible to programme a cooking time when
using the MILK, OIL and BUTTER cooking
programmes.
When the contents of the pan reach the optimal
temperature, the hob buzzer will sound, a short
beep will be emitted every 15 seconds and the
display will show the text COOK OK.
Food may then be placed in the pan in the OIL and
BUTTER cooking programmes; the sound and visual
signals are interrupted and the automatic adjustment
of the hob continues.
When the WATER and SAUCE cooking programmes
are started the display requests that a duration is set.
Adjust the minutes by pressing the
and buttons
at the side of the display and press OK to confirm.
During the WATER cooking programme, once the
boiling temperature has been reached, the hob
emits an alarm: two short beeps will be emitted
every seconds and the display will show the text
COOK OK. The timer begins counting down once
food has been placed inside the pan.
During the SAUCE cooking programme the timer
begins counting down once the optimal reduction
temperature has been reached and the hob emits a
sound signal.
When the set time has elapsed the cooking zone
switches off.
