m Remaining hazards
The machine has been built using modern technology in
accordance with recognized safety rules. Some remaining
hazards, however, may still exist.
The rotating planing spindle can cause injuries to •
fingers and hands if the work piece is incorrectly fed.
Thrown work pieces can lead to injury if the work piece •
is not properly secured or fed, such as working without
a limit stop.
Wood chips and sawdust can be health hazards. Be •
sure to wear personal protective gear such as safety
goggles and a dust mask. Use a vacuum exhaust
system.
Injuries through defective planer/thicknesser •
blades. Check the blades regularly for their perfect
condition.
Risk of injuries to finger and hands when changing the •
planer/thicknesser blades. Wear suitable gloves.
Risk of injuries through the starting planer/thicknesser •
blades when switching on the machine.
Injuries caused by electricity through the use of •
damaged extension cables.
Health hazards through the running tool with long hair •
and loose clothes. Wear personal protective gear like a
hairnet and close-fitting clothes.
Even when all safety measures are taken, some •
remaining hazards which are not yet evident may still
exist.
Remaining hazards can be minimized by following the •
instructions in "Safety Precautions", “Proper Use", and
in the entire operating instructions.
Setting up
Prepare the location of the machine. Make sure there is
sufcient space to allow safe and trouble-free working.
The machine has been designed to operate in enclosed
rooms. It must be set up in a stable way on a level, firm
ground.
The machine can be fastened to a work bench (xing
material not included in the supply extent (Fig. 1).
Transport
For transport, the machine may only be lifted on the
base. Never lift it on the guards, the setting handles or
the planer/thicknesser table.
Before transporting, pull the power supply plug.
During transport, the cutter block guard must be set in
the lowest position.

Risque pour la santé provenant de la sciure ou des •
copeaux. Il faut impérativement porter des équipements
de protection personnels tels qu’une protection pour
les yeux et un masque contre la poussière. Installer un
dispositif d’aspiration.
Blessures par des fers de rabot défectueux. •
Inspectionner régulièrement les fers.
Risque de blessure aux doigts et aux mains lors du •
changement de fers. Porter des gants.
Risque de blessure par les fers lors de mettre en •
marche la machine.
Risque dû à l’électricité lors de l’utilisation de câbles •
de raccordement électriques non conformes.
Risque pour la santé en cas de cheveux longs et de •
vêtements larges. Porter des vêtements bien seyants
et un filet.
De plus, des risques résiduels invisibles peuvent •
survenir malgré toutes les précautions prises.
Les risques résiduels peuvent être réduits si les •
«règles de sécurité» et «l’utilisation conforme aux
prescriptions» ainsi que le mode d’emploi sont
respectés.
Installation
Préparer le lieu de travail pour la machine. Créer de la
place suffisante pour permettre un travail sans dangers
et sans problèmes. La machine a été construite pour
être utilisée dans des locaux fermés et doit reposer sur
un support stable.
La machine peut être montée sur un établi (pièces de
montage non fournies) (Fig. 1).
Transport
Pour transporter, n’attacher le dispositif de relevage qu’au
ti, jamais aux dispositifs protecteurs, aux poignées de
réglage ou à la table de dégauchissage.
Pour le transport, débrancher la prise d’alimentation.
Lors du transport, le protecteur de l’arbre de rabotage
doit se trouver dans la position la plus basse.
