Installation
Make sure there is sufcient space for handling the
work piece over the whole length without the operator
(or another person) having to stand in line with the
work piece.
Using bolts, washers and hexagon nuts (not supplied
with the machine), the planer/thicknesser can be
bolted to a work bench.
The planing machine must be bolted onto a rm, level
surface.
The machine may not tilt.
Machine setting up and functions
The electric planer/thicknesser is transportable. It is
powered by a single-phase motor and is double insu-
lated. It has been designed for planing wood, and it
features a rational construction, easy operation, and
high efciency.
Maintenance
Always pull the power supply plug before doing any
servicing work. Having nished the work, put the
cutter block guard in operating position again.
Machine care
The planer/thicknesser requires little maintenance. The
ball bearings are permanently lubricated. After approx.
ten operating hours, lubrication of the following parts
is re commended:
Bearing of the infeed and output roller
Bearing of pulley and sprocket
Greasing the chain.
The threaded spindle for height-adjustment of the thick-
nessing table may only be treated with a dry lubricant
agent.
The table surfaces as well as the infeed and output
rollers must always be kept free from resin.
Regularly clean infeed and output rollers.
In order to avoid overheating of the motor, regularly
check the air openings for any dust sticking on.
After a longer period of use, it is recommended to
have the machine checked by an authorized dealer
service.
Tool care:
Cutter block, clamping devices, knife supports and
knives must be regularly cleaned from resin, as
a clean tool improves the planing quality. To this
purpose, clamping devices, knife supports and knives
can be put in a common resin remover for 24 hours.
Resin from aluminium tools may only be removed with
cleaning liquids not being aggressive to this type of
Installation
